Who's been disappointing?

I picked Rachel. She's only had one decent performance.

She has been hampered by some bizarre song choices form Danii but I think, and hope, she looks back on this and sees she hasn't done herself justice.

Rachel peaked in her audition and she couldn't even top the same song so theres no hope for her

Rachel, looking at what she has done in the live shows I really think she shouldn't have made it onto the show. It's really starting to look like she only still in because of her sob story.

She should have gone last week.

Rachel has been disappointing, apart from Big Band week. But she is still in there...............

Rachel in the way of performances and Bad Lashes in the way they left so early due to a shocking song choice.

Rachel, Girlband, Bad Lashes, JLS and Scott have all been disappointing IMO, based on what I expected. However, I've voted Rachel, because JLS have been OK mostly, and the other three were the first three out.

biggest dissapointment this year has been ALL the finalists except Alex (who looks superb in comparrison to the competition)

The rest have been average at best and down right awful at worst.
How many weeks are we into the finals and yet still the judges make comments like "you should be singing off the end of a pier" and " for you Daniel that wasnt BAD!!" hell nobody this far in should be anywhere near bad.
Diana is still in despite holding her head in shame at probably the worst ever performance given in any talent show ever screened (bad voice or not ..if sh'ed have done that at auditions the judges would had shot her)

Rachel always sounds as if she's in labour, although habits of a lifetime will probably never change, she should stick to being the best karaoke singer at her local drop out centre.
JLS are a bit like Arsenal, look pretty, sometimes play pretty but the end results are just consistantly not anywhere near good enough.
Ruth survives on the basis she is nowhere near as bad as the rest, but Im sure each week there are probably 100 or so better singers in the audience than her.
Eoghan I'm sure gets most of his votes from short sighted sheep dog lovers who think its one of there own performing on stage instead of Crufts.
Altogether this years X factor has been a comedy Peter Kay would have been proud of, the judges so blind or deaf that you can only laugh at the comments they make prior to the ultimate descions on who goes through at the end.
Daniel is someone who "cant sing with average at best peformances" (Louis Walsh, quote) and who put him through?
And the show producer and chief judge Simon Cowell calls this a singing competition, yeah right Simon, just like the X factor is an entertainment show.

They are all rather disappointing lately. There's been very few performances this year that wowed me. People like Leona and Rhydian impressed me nearly every week but this lot are giving quite forgettable performances. I hoped this year would be the best ever but it hasn't turned out that way partially due to losing talented contestants like Austin and Laura so early.

I agree with the last two posts. This year was supposed to be a strong year yet there are mediocre singers still with a good chance of winning.

I totally agree with Angie's assessment of Diana performance on Saturday. That performance wa, by any stretch of the imagination, bad and its time more of Dianas fans admitted it.

Also some have put it down to her 'illness'. With or without her 'illness' it was still awful.

Ok is just 'meh' wasn't good wasn't bad. I have listend to it a lot of times now, and it's still 'meh' but it wasn't awful, IMO, it just wasn't her best, us fans know she can do so much better. Apparenlty she is better now.

Apparenlty she is better now. It wasnt even OK. As has been pointed out, if she'd have done that at the auditons she'd have never got through. It was THAT bad. Yet three of the judges in assessing the performance simply climbed up her ar*e instead of doing their jobs.

But IMO, and others it was 'meh' it was ok, it wont put me off her. I said on the night Rachel and Alex were by far the best, which they were. That's the judges fault, not Diana's. When Eoghan sung the Love song out of tune, most people on here and on other forums said it was awful and out of tune, but none of the judges said f all, now that's up his bum, at least Simon said to Diana it wasn't good.

By failing to give a proper assessment they're giving the acts the impression they're better than they actually are. Its noticable that Diana and Eoghan are the faves and always get positive comments. Is it because the judges think they're actually as good as they're saying or is it because the judges want to get behind the potential winners thus giving the impression they could see the talent all along? Who knows? But I do know the viewers are not getting a proper talent contest and I'm going to criticise acts that are being overpraised and fans who are blindly following mediocre acts.

One bad week will not put me off her, I am not blind to anything, I said on the night is wasn't her best, but I will not sit here and say, oh my god that was awful, terrible ect, because IMO it wasn't, it was just 'meh'. Diana and Alex are me favs, if Alex gave a 'meh' performances I would say, but I would still vote for her, like I did with Diana, they are me two favs acts, I don't like the others.

Everyone is entitled to their opinons and everyone is entitled to vote for who they want, but when poor performances are being praised by judges and fans it makes a mockery of what is supposed to be a talent contest.

EDIT: The judges cant criticise a potential winner so close to the end of the series. If she wins, it would make them look like they didnt know what they were doing.

Supposed to be a talent contest... but..... in truth now (thanks mainly to Simon Cowell)
Thes shows are no longer complete talent competitions, they are simply an interactive entertainment show.
Talent takes second place to the stars of the show........the judges thats what the X factor is ALL about those 4 people at the front table, the rest of the show is all incidental.

These judges have there big stance entrance at the start like all star performers do, the 'other' people get a bit part in between (thats supposed to be the talent) the judges also get to do the big encore of the show when one of them decides the result, which is what the show is all about, the judges and the end result.
The judges also have there own acts, LOL
so now they decide... after scathing comments on exactly how bad the 'talent' is... they then decide to keep them because it either suits there own interests, or hurts an interest of another competing judges interests. Thats why we have had Daniel go this far despite 3 of those judges knowing what you and I know, namely if Daniel is one of the talented acts of the UK 2008, then we really are in trouble as a nation trying to find future real TALENT.

Thats the format so it dont matter if Rachel or anyone decides to hum her next song with her thumb up her a**, at least one judge is going to say it was a great performance, although I didnt like the song choice I know your a star"

The truth is IF the X Factor was truly a talent ONLY contest, therefore nothing at all to do with Simon (the show is about me dont forget) then we wouldnt have half the acts we have had this series, because its clear to me and many others this bunch over the final weeks have only showed consistancy in being inconsistant with there performance, and that in a real TALENT competition is simply not good enough.

Rachel, she had one stand out week and that was it (Big Band Night).

Diana was a dissapointment too. Her voice was different the recorded shows, too.

Rachel, I thought she was a surefire winner until the Live Shows. She's only really had the one good song and always out of her comfort zone unless she does Mary J Blige or similar.
