Endemol boss Peter Bazalgette has hinted that Big Brother may end next year, Teletext's 'TV Plus' reports today.
Channel 4 bosses were concerned in the early weeks of the series by the negative publicity the show generated in the press, which included Kitten's rebellious behaviour and the infamous 'fight night', which led to the removal of Emma from the house.
Bazalgette said: "Big Brother VII is a matter of discussion, the contract ends with Big Brother VI and we will get together with Channel 4 after that. It all comes down to casting."
Despite this, a senior Channel 4 spokeswoman said: "It is far too early to talk about number seven. It depends how people feel about it next year. There are lots of options. No decision has been made."
