watch all her fans be like:
* It's a fix
* The phone lines didn't work properly
* We DEMAND to see the voting figures
* There was an error with her phone number
etc etc etc.
Bet you anything that if she doesn't win, it will be a repeat of when Laura was eliminated.
VOTE RUTH!

Lmao, I don't think so, if she doesn't win, most of us Diana fans wouldn't be to upset, because she is getting a record deal anyway, and if she does win, that will just be a bonus.

There will be stories like this in the press:
The Night Diana Was Robbed. The tiny singer with the flowing blond hair was in a different class than his rivals in The X Factor final. Wacky Eoghan sewed up the little girl vote as he appeared on the stage dressed as an Elf and was yanked 20 feet in the air to sprinkle stardust on the Christmas tree. While they were having their wires pulled, nice but dull belter Alexandra was tugging on the heartstrings with tearful video packages featuring his extended family in various states of distress.
But Blackburn's finest eschewed gimmicks and sob stories and let her little voice do the talking. While Amy Winehouse encased her entire body in a pair of lace nylons to deflect attention from Eoghan’s less than captivating vocals, Diana complemented Kate Bush perfectly in a classy duet. They trilled in perfect harmony, lifting the hopes Blackburn.
Her reprise of Hallelujah! gained a standing ovation from the judges. Even Dannii’s botoxed features were attempting to crease with emotion. And when given the truly abysmal ballad the show inflicted on the final contestants, her passionate interpretation made it sound like a half decent song.
Surely our Diana was home and dry – the first X Factor contestant to combine superb vocal skills with a genuine quirky charisma. But sadly the girl could not unravel one of the most depressing enigmas of British popular entertainment – why talent does not necessarily win you talent shows.
The problem with The X Factor is it’s not a talent show – it’s a soap. The back story is all. Your chances of winning are significantly increased if you can underscore your warblings with a tragic account of (delete as applicable) being bullied/raised by struggling single mum/dreaming of escape via record deal while stacking shelves in Topman.
Ultimately, Diana was penalised for having a relatively stable family background and coming from a nice house in Blackburn The production team were obviously so worried about her lack of tear-jerking potential in the beginning that they created a role for her, casting him as the shows little darling. But she soon outgrew the Marmite tag and revealed herself to be a decent, articulate and dignified young gal. Unlike many X Factor wannabees, she didn’t rely on the odd karaoke stint to hone her voice.
X Factor talent is also at the mercy of the interactive public, which, unfortunately in this case, features a disproportionately large number of 14-year-old girls. It would be a great leap forward for British television if the power of the people was removed and judging was left to those who actually know what they’re talking about. This would also cancel out the possibility of technical glitches affecting the result.
While we’re on the subject, I would like someone in ITV to tell me why on the 29 occasions I attempted to vote for Diana on Saturday night I only got through once.
But would it have made any difference anyway? Diana’s fate was sealed. The nearest the Northern Lassies got to tactical emotional blackmail was letting her fabulously feisty oAunt Mary tell her to “go and win it!”. Keep your Irish histrionics – that’s what we call the Northern Way.
And she should take heart. Today’s reality show victor can be tomorrow’s David Sneddon. Runner-up Diana has done enough to convince the industry there’s a new star twinkling over Blackburn. She may have lost The X Factor to a singer with the Zzzzzzz Factor but only time will tell who the real winner is.

It will give them a excuse to bitch and moan about the winner. On the other hand, I hope someone else wins because this years contest seems like it rigged.

And Ruth fans wont? Alex fans wont? JLS fans wont?
Why is it always the Diana fans that are the ones that moan and bitch? like I said, we wont bitch or moan, as she will be getting a contract anyway, winning would just be a bonus for us fans and Diana.

And you don't think it would be the same if it was "rigged" for Eoghan to win, or Ruth or Alexandra? so what if they complain, i won't but tv shows always get that type of excuses especially on BB or XF

Another story already prepared by the press:
'Robbed' Diana snubs X Factor party as probe launched into phone vote after 10,000 complaintsX Factor runner-up Diana Vickers showed her fury at the voting scandal engulfing the show by snubbing the series wrap party in Soho last night.
The Blackburn singer is furious after claims hundreds of fans could not get through during the show's final on Saturday, where she lost out to Eoghan Quigg.
And she left no doubt about her feelings by delivering the humiliating snub to organisers.
The party took place following reports that Ofcom will investigate the row after receiving over 10,000 complaints from viewers.
The other contestants, including 18-year-old Leon, attended the knees-up at Studio Valbonne and were joined by presenters Dermot O'Leary and Fearne Cotton, as well as judge Louis Walsh.
But white-haired Rhydian, 25, was nowhere to be seen.
A source said: "Diana feels she was stitched-up over the final. She was the hot favourite, and was shocked to hear that many viewers couldn't get through to register their votes for her."
"She's very disappointed and feels she should have won. She didn't feel he had anything to celebrate last night, so thought it best to stay away until an investigation is held into the phone voting.
"It was a slap in the face for the show's producers and has come at a pretty bad time."
Broadcasting watchdog Ofcom will now investigate the row after receiving 10,000 complaints from viewers.
"They expressed concerns about the operation of the voting and many said they were struggling to get through," an Ofcom spokesman said.
An X Factor spokeswoman denied any voting irregularities, and producers TalkbackThame said the voting bottleneck was down to the volume of calls and insisted the contest was not rigged.
Last night's party was also snubbed by judges Simon Cowell - who is now on holiday in Barbados.
Louis Walsh was quick to boast to guests how he was the only judge who bothered to turn up.
But presenters Fearne Cotton and a dapper Dermot O' Leary didn't disappoint.
And flop finalists JLS and Girlband, made up the numbers at the decidedly low-key end of show bash.
Diana's mother revealed the X Factor finalist was left feeling "stitched up".
Mrs Vickers said: "Diana's not a bad loser but she feels the same as us about the result - and we think it's a fix. "She believes it's possible he was stitched up. She's disappointed for himself and his fans."
Eoghan 's mother today hit back at claims of voting irregularities.
She told RTE-1: "I think it's just a lot of rubbish because on Saturday night I had a lot of people texting me they couldn't get through on the lines for Eoghan - the lines were absolutely jammed.
"I even had one person tell me they had tried 300 times to get through to Eoghan on the landline and they couldn't get through.
"Actually Diana's mum came up and cuddled me at the start of the show. When Eoghan won, not one member of his family came up to me to congratulate me after the show.
She added: "I think it's been a fair competition and because Diana was the favourite all the way through that's why her family's upset, because she didn't win it."
Media watchdog Ofcom confirmed it has launched an investigation, the latest in a series of probes into phone-in competitions.
An Ofcom spokeswoman said the number of complaints has now reached 10,100.
Net messageboards have been swamped. One fan said: "Diana was robbed. For the last three minutes his line was blocked and that had not happened before."
Eoghan ended up with 10 per cent more votes than Diana.
Simon Cowell is reported to be signing Diana on to his own label. But today Eoghan defended his win, telling RTE-1: "On the night, I just went out and did my best.
"You never know how the public is voting and that aspect is out of my hands... On a show like this, there is always a large volume of calls, so you never know what the
Diana, who started Saturday's show as 1-3 favourite, was beaten by Eoghan in what bookmakers described as "the biggest shock in reality show history".
But fansites and internet messageboards have been inundated by suggestions that Diana was the victim of a major "miscarriage" as phone lines were engaged during the final, which was watched by 12.7million.
One fan complained: "Diana was robbed in my view. For the last three minutes her line was blocked and that had not happened before."
Twenty radio stations in England have banned Eoghan's single in protest.
An Ofcom spokesman said: "Viewers expressed concerns about the operation of the voting and many said they were struggling to get through."
Last night an ITV spokesman insisted the result was not affected.
He said: "Phone lines were monitored throughout the night and there were no issues on voting lines.
"We do get a huge surge of calls and depending on phone operators some callers may have experienced an engaged tone or busy message and therefore may have to call back, but these should not be charged.
"Some Virgin Media customers did experience problems because of high call volumes but there were no other reported faults on the lines."
A Virgin Media spokesman said: "We are looking into the matter but have not found anything unusual."
Phone voting on The X Factor has attracted controversy before.
A report by auditors Deloitte into ITV competitions found "serious technical issues" surrounding voting on the show.
For the 2005 final 13.9 per cent of text votes arrived too late to be counted. ITV also admitted overcharging viewers by £200,000 on last year's series, after 1.3million votes were accidentally charged at the wrong rate.

So? It was the same with Rhydian last year, it will be the same if Alex doesn't win and if Eoghan doesn't win. It just comes with shows that people vote for winners on, not everyone is going to be happy and if your favourite is a massive favourite on most internet sites then I would expect them to act similar to what you described.

I am all about the Diana favoritism, its clearly obvious, but we all know, in reality shows of the UK, everytime the favorite doesnt win, people are always going to say, its a fix. It happens all the time. Last year people said it was a fix, because Leon won over Rhydian. ANd of course they will do it again this year if it happens. It has nothing to do with Diana

The thing is they are average to YOU, not to us fans or the judges, except Yellow.

When a singer fails to hit the right note it’s pretty much obvious to everybody who’s listening. Diana failed on many notes on Saturday – especially the high notes - so it’s not about opinions anymore. Not mine or yours. She was pitchy and Simon was the only one who said so. Its the bias that I cant stand.

Well average performance is in opinion she may not hit notes but she still sounds good and entertains...
any reality tv show is pretty much decided within 6 weeks...
and just because people dont like how she sings and their favourite isnt vote topping, they will bring diana down every way they can, like complaining about her hand being up by her face constantly...

Hitting the right notes is one of the basics for a good singer. If you acknowledge she doesn’t hit the right notes then you’re as good as saying she not a very singer.
This is supposed to be a talent contest it shouldn’t be decided so early.

yes but she doesnt hit them but still makes it sound good so shes just changed the way a song sounds....
also its alredy decided usually like leona... had it won..
This year is quite split so its going to be a 'fix' no matter who wins. Diana won't win anyway, Alexandra will.
