Cowell tells Eoghan - "You're a pop star"Dungiven X-Factor hopeful Eoghan Quigg is a pop star, music mogul Simon Cowell told him in front of millions on Saturday night.
Cowell, Eoghan's mentor, spoke after the 16-year-old wowed the show's judges with his version of Take That's 'Never Forget'.
Viewers voted him through to the final five of the smash hit show.
The Quiglet
Dubbed The Quiglet by judge Louis Walsh, the talented teen jumped several feet in the air, hugging Simon Cowell when his name was called out by X Factor host Dermot O'Leary during the results show.
The St. Patrick's College student is preparing with the remaining acts to perform a Britney Spears song and an American classic when the talent show continues next Saturday.
Spears is set to sing live on the show.
Meanwhile, some callers to the Journal claim they encountered difficulty trying to cast their votes for Eoghan on Saturday night.
However, an X Factor spokesperson said: "There were absolutely no issues with the phone lines or voting system which is subject to rigorous procedures and protocols."
Rachel Hylton, who was booted off the show on Saturday, now wants Eoghan to win the X Factor title.
Romance rumours
Eoghan has also been making headlines over rumours about a romance with fellow contestant, Diana Vickers.
However the Dungiven lad has told the Journal that they are just good friends, supporting each other in the competition.
