X Factor row rages on as Louis and Dannii stop speakingThings have gone from bad to worse between Irish X Factor judge Louis Walsh and rival Dannii Minogue.
Viewers watched open-mouthed over the weekend as the pair had a vicious verbal exchange, which left Dannii looking distraught.
But instead of putting the spat behind them, tension has reached boiling point between the pair who are having a massive personality clash.
A show insider has revealed that the Westlife manager is no longer speaking to Dannii in the wake of last Saturday's show, which saw her entry Rachel Hylton given the boot.
"He told pals that he reckons she's only playing on the public's heart strings and is trying to get the sympathy vote now by turning on the water works -- it was all crocodile tears," she said. "He believes Dannii's desperate to win again, no matter what the cost and will do anything to achieve that -- particularly because she feels so under pressure right now. She is determined to do well in the competition and doesn't seem to care how what tactics she uses as long as she's victorious.
"The pair don't really speak at all backstage -- they exchange the briefest of pleasantries necessary for the job and that's it."
As first revealed in the Herald, the two judges had the ill-luck of having adjoining dressing rooms and have failed to hit it off from the very start.
Singer Dannii even sent Louis a tray of cupcakes by way of a peace offering in the wake of the first show, but things have only worsened. The most recent run-in was sparked amid claims that Dannii stole the song that Louis wanted his one remaining act to perform on the night.
But in the end, Louis' band JLS performed Take That track A Million Love Songs to great acclaim.
Praising their performance, Dannii told them: "Whatever you believe, there were no songs stolen. You chose that song -- and you got into your stride tonight."
unforgivable
Adding fuel to the fire, Simon Cowell then told her how the song was changed 24 hours before due to a mix-up between her and Louis.
"To be put in this situation when your career is at stake is unforgivable, Louis," he said.
Getting in his own tuppence worth, Louis then turned to Dannii and said: "You did nick their song -- but it doesn't matter."
