He Left Hull a wannabe but has returned a Big Brother star.

After 10 weeks in the public glare, Dan Bryan found it just as bright when he arrived at Hull's Paragon Station.

Teenagers, children and even the odd pensioner huddled round asking for his autograph as he got off the Hull Trains service.

"It is amazing to be back," said Dan. "It's been mad."

Dan posed for photographs and was even asked to hold nine-week-old baby Emily Brown.

"It was wonderful to see so many people here," said the hairdresser. "I thought I could sneak in quietly."

The reaction was so different from 13 weeks ago when Dan bid farewell to his home city and was whisked off to Belgium by producers Endemol UK.

He spent two weeks in isolation before being flown back to England to enter the Big Brother house on May 28. But he returned to the city a hero after coming third in the show, although he was only here for a flying visit.

"I'm here for the weekend to see my friends and family and then I'm back in London for Tuesday," he said.

"My band iceHouse have a meeting with Island Records, which is part of Universal."

Dan also has an interview lined up for Monday with Viking FM, as well as public appearances and a 25-date DJing tour. He will also appear at Foxy & Tom's Big Bash in East Park on August 26.

But last night, before his celeb bookings took over, Dan was just looking forward to crashing out with real-life housemate Gill Adams, 43, and having a drink in his favourite bar Pave, in Princes Avenue, west Hull.

"I'm under the illusion it will be normal when I go there," he said. "Although, I have a feeling it won't be. I went shopping with Shell on Monday and we got mobbed.

"I have to add an hour to whatever I'm doing for autographs."

Although Dan's life has changed tremendously, he was glad to see Hull had stayed the same.

"It is reassuring," he said. "My bedroom will be just as I have left it, only more dusty. One of the first things I'm going to do is shut myself in there for 15 minutes and soak everything in."

Dan also hopes to perform a few numbers at another favourite hangout, the Jazzmakers club, in the Sailmakers' Arms, High Street, Hull, on Sunday.

"I love Hull," said Dan. "I cannot wait to get to my house. I'm sick of hotels."

Dan is a winner..... I just hope he accepts it. The only thing holding him back is he doesn't want to win.

Go for it Dan....

Yes indeedy, even when he was saying he didn't want to win, lol  I knew when he stepped out of the car on the first night that there was something about him that made him stand out from the others (apart from his height, stylish clothes and trilby, lol).

xishax you are right.... Dan was very quite at the start of Big Brother, although he joined in he always spent a lot of time in the background. It wasn't until after the fight that he seem to come alive and take a lead role in the house.
