View Full Version : Where did it all go wrong?
Everyone had such high hopes for this series.
Alexandra
Austin
Diana
JLS
Laura
Rachel
Ruth
were all potential winners at the start of the series and now 3 of those are still in but only 1 is standing head and shoulders above the rest, whilst the other 3 pale in comparison. What the hell has happened this year? :puzzled:

Stupid theme weeks for a start.

The problem is that some stupid screaming teenage girls started to vote for Eoghan when he's been crap throughout the whole series. They don't look at the amazing vocalists who deserve to win the show so much more.

the public keeping daniel in havng him there longer than needed messed it all up had he gone first week i think the final could look very different with the likes of austin and laura in it

Why Austin isn't in over Eoghan is beyond me. Austin is by a mile the best boy this year.

Have you heard his non-X Factor performances? He is a million times better without the show, so hopefully he'll be successful anyway.

The X-Factor has become a popularity contest and not a talent show. I have been saying on here for weeks on here and even judges said it last night.

Its not that though, I mean if you look at the level of talent from bootcamp/judges homes stage and compare the same acts then and now, the talent and standard has definitely slipped. Diana and JLS were both amazing during bootcamp and judges homes. Now they're just meh.

JLS yes. diana no. diana has got talent above the rest. the main reason being she has what it takes to make a lot of money long term. the rest shall struggle. thats a fact.

Nothing went wrong with the show. It was the British publics' fault, they boot off amazing singers like Austin, Laura and Ruth, whilst keeping that yelping Diana in.

Well I agree that it is the stupid screaming teenage girl votes that are keeping Eggy Bread in - the amazing vocalists are pretty much all gone and I'm sticking by Alex as the winner for this year as she is the only one left with an X-Factor.
Still, Ruth going last night was a travisty but I think we all saw it coming deep down, this show isn't about talent at all anymore and everyone knows it.

I dunno, Austin always seemed like an "almost but not quite" to me =\
Laura is the public thinking their favourite is safe.
Rachel was the whole hit and miss, attitude and media.
Ruth exceeded expectations.
The groups have Louis as a mentor, so they were buggered over from the word go.
Diana just started to grate on people.

I don't know if it all slipped away, Ruth and Alex have both been improving week on week and both were amazing last night compared to the rest. As for JLS as a group I think they have improved, their harmonies are so much better now than they were, but lead vocals sometimes aren't very strong, and another thing is when they are spread over the stage the connection goes and it just all goes wrong. With Diana I think it is the pressure of performing week in and week out, its getting to her and she is just going to carry on getting worse.

Her only talent is annoy people with that bloody left hand and stupid voice, be honest she as talented as Jade Goody little toe.
Everything went wrong when a group of olds (and Simon ) sat around a table and turned Pop Idol into The X-Factor...
I forget why I watch it... true talents never win.. :/

simon cowell is a very clever man. do you want to know how clever? well. i shall tell you. he will make you believe that he wants someone to win. but actually he is fooling. he knows that voters from home can play on the sympathy vote. have you been watching "strictly come dancing." just look at john sargent. that was ridiculous.
Austin - No personality, Billie Jean was marmite.
Diana - Controversy over laryngitis, recovering from it, lost her confidence as a result.
JLS - Allowed it to become Aston and 3 back up singers.
Laura - Screwy week in general, I stand by the belief that Diana not being there dramatically affected the voting.
Rachel - Poor attitude, bad song choices.
Ruth - No regional fan base.
I see no fault in Alexandra, myself, but that's maybe just me.

No. Diana won't last long. To survive in the music industry you either need to wow people with your voice and songs, or you need to reinvent yourself. Thats a fact. Diana can't do that.

will young has done very well for himself. perhaps its because of his homosexuality. i dont know. that could be a factor. maybe the appeal to the gay audience out there. and that is pretty extensive. he has a different kind of voice. and he seems like a nice lad. he has the looks the charm the voice and most of all the x factor.

you really need to listen to simon. he says that he wants to find something different. the last thing this country needs is an ordinary singer or group. we need something special. that is what the x factor is all about. believe in diana and then you shall find exactly what simon is looking for. the facts are there. its just trying to realise them.

It's like BB9 all over again. The potential to be the best series ever but ruined by ridiculous voting decisions.
Problems:
Daniel lasting so long
Diana losing her confidence
Crappy themes especially Mariah Carey:bored:
Losing Austin and Laura
Talent not being the single most deciding factor (Although that's always been a problem this year is probably the worst for it)

Also, when the judges start voting tactitcally and tried to destroy the confidence of acts not in their groups. Thats where it went wrong.
