X Factor - Diana Vickers should have gone not Ruth Lorenzot looks like Louis Walsh might be a bit upset today after he had to say goodbye to Ruth Lorenzo after Saturday's Britney themed X Factor.

Ruth failed to get enough votes to stay in the competition as X Factor fans backed Diana Vickers instead.

This surprised the judges as they didn't expect Ruth to go home at all.

Earlier on in the night, Diana's performances didn't go down as well as normal, which made her the favourite to go.

Louis even seemed to hint that he didn't fancy her chances of surviving the night when he gave her some feedback.

He said: "Although I much preferred your second song, I think that Ruth and Alexandra are stronger than you in this competition."

Dannii Minogue seemed to agree and said Diana needed to show more passion in her songs.

Simon tried to make Diana smile. He said: "I could feel your nerves before you started to sing that song.

"But I've got to tell you, that song may have just saved you, it was a million times better!"

Will Diane be able to survive next week? Only time will tell...

What about Eoghan? he was even worse! I liek the way some people keep going on about Diana but competey leave out Eoghan. When it's so obvs he is going to win.

I watched Xtra Factor between the main shows. The general concensus of
people on there was that Alexander and Ruth were the top 2, while Diana and perhaps JLS would struggle. It seemed obvious to me that Diana with her fanbase would stroll through however she sang.
It was also the case that after the second round of songs, the judges told acts who were down and out that they were SUDDENLY 'back in the race', EVEN THOUGH THEIR PERFORMANCES WERE NO BETTER!! At that point I feared for Ruth.......and with good reason. We are now left with Alex and three makeweights in the last four.

On performance then definitely yes. Diana and Eoghan can put in mediocre performance and still sail through.

I thought JLS's version of Britney was better than Britneys I dont why they got slated and the second song was good and they have a better look for pop than Ruth

Don't agree...............in fact over the past 2 weeks, JLS have gone from what looked like a decent boy band to a one-man band (Austin) and three average backing singers. They also used the 'sympathy' tactic of austin looking sad when Cowell ludicrously said they were out (after one song), and even more sad every time 'bottom 2' was mentioned. I believe most of their 'support 'is from people who are now running scared that eoghan will reach the final.

JLS have a few tuning problems every week but other than that they're still good.

In terms of ruth and not reaching the last four, I did feel that when she sang 'Always' at the end, she sang it better than first-time, and without the pressure of what seemed to be having to belt out big rock-ballads just to stay in. Eoghan and Diana have sung week after week without that added pressure of knowing they were in the bottom 2 before.
Ruth has sung 4 times more than Diana on the show, and 3 times more than the others.................yet that last performamce of Always would have won her a sing-off (again) against anyone apart from Alex at her VERY BEST. It showed she should still be in there.
