Is The UK Public Unable To Handle Big Brother Nudity?

Practically everywhere else, but the UK, allows full on nudity to be shown on their version of Big Brother, except, Big Brother UK. I know there's been a few "incidents", but they don't show them showering and such. In the US, they have an after dark version on television where they show everything uncensored.

I'm surprised the UK hasn't actually gotten to that point and just shown everything. Lord knows, they've shown them sitting around, doing nothing for hours on end.

This is due to the way broadcasting is regulated, plus elements in the press, like the Daily Mail screaming "the end of the world" should anything risque ever be hinted at.

on a serious note, i don't think it'd happen even if it was allowed.
UK housemates tend to be more aware of what happens after the show as opposed to other countries where it's perceived more as a gameshow, so i doubt the housemates would show anything.

They also have full on fights in other countries but in ours all you have to do is shout at someone and get a warning, maybe throw a buffet tray or make gun noises and you'll get kicked out :joker:

The nudity thing has been stripped out over the years, I mean there used to be a lot of it (thinking back to series 1 and the clay incident) but now its all censored.

Doesn't bother me either way though tbh

It's not the broadcasters, it' the housemates who censor themselves - although that said in the last couple of years they haven't bothered putting a camera in the shower.

Why should they? I wouldn't want to have a shower in front of 4m people and I doubt you would as well.

No I wouldn't, but I wouldn't go on Big Brother! It's not filming people having a shower which we're missing out on (it was only really in BB1 they ever showed that), but it's when housemates hide in the shower for a bit of privacy - i.e. Ziggy and Chanelle breaking up in BB8.

I would make one rule though: only the good looking contestants would be allowed to be nude. :hugesmile:

Celebrity Big Brother always removed them, but in the main series they certainly had them for the first three series. Not so sure about BB4, but in BB5/6 there was no privacy in the showers so we could see everything anyway.

Like BB4, BB7 had a glass cubicle so I don't think they had a camera in the shower, but HMs couldn't really go and hide in there to do anything other than shower. Neither BB8 or BB9 had cameras in there, despite the showers being a blind spot - especially in BB8.
