British talent has dominated the Record Of The Year nominations for the US Grammy Awards.

Coldplay, Adele, Leona Lewis, MIA and Robert Plant with Alison Krauss will battle it out for the major honour at the February 8 ceremony in LA.

Coldplay, put forward for 'Viva La Vida', achieved nominations in seven categories, while Rapper Lil Wayne led the pack with eight. Three acts were each nominated for six - rappers Kanye West and Jay-Z, and R&B singer Ne-Yo.

Welsh star Duffy and Adele are up for Best New Artist, facing The Jonas Brothers, Jazmine Sullivan, and Lady Antebellum.

Lil Wayne, Coldplay, Ne-Yo, Radiohead, and Robert Plant with Alison Krauss will compete for the coveted Album Of The Year Grammy.

The major winner at the 2008 award ceremony was Amy Winehouse, who collected five gongs and dedicated them to her husband Blake Fielder-Civil and London, after the city witnessed a major fire.

It seems Leona was snubbed for Best New Artist :\

Not all of them are shown during the show. A bunch of them are given before the show and just get a quick mention live.
