After a relatively quiet start, we're now doing rather well! :colour: :colour: :colour:
Special congratulations to Matthew Pinsent on his fourth gold medal, and to the rest of the coxless fours . . . . . . . you were absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I haven't been up so early on a Saturday morning since I don't know how long!
 Can hardly speak now - still hoarse from screaming at the TV!

I've really enjoyed watching the Olympics this year.
Had goose-bumps watching Matthew Pinsent & Co win their golds yesterday.
Let's hope Paula Radcliffe does us proud in a few hours time. Don't think I could run 26 miles in that heat! Good luck to her.......
(BTW my hubby's enjoying the woman's beach volleyball - wonder why?!?!?)

Another Gold Medal :hello:
BOXING sensation Amir Khan blasted his way into the Olympic final last night - and set up the chance of a gold medal at 17.
The Bolton barnstormer swept aside Kazakhstan's Serik Yeluov to win a thrilling semi-final on points.
That triggered more ringside celebrations in Greece by scrap metal dealer dad Shajaad, 43, mum Falak, 39, sisters Tabinda, 18, and Mariyah, seven, and brother Haroon, 13.

Well done to Kelly and the relay boys:thumbs:
Tonights the last night of the games isn't it?
Yep. :bawling:
They've been fantastic, though. From a slow start, Team GB has really done us proud!
Last night's athletics was brilliant - Kelly Holmes was awesome, and the men's 4 x 100 relay ran out of their socks. Made a change for the Americans to mess up the baton changes, didn't it!
All the best to wee Amir Khan going for gold later today. :hello:

Yeah he missed out on gold the cuban won the gold
Can't believe what happened in the men's marathon!
That poor Brazilian athlete - he must be in absolute shock. :bawling:
Thank god he managed to hang on and get the bronze medal . . . . . even if it was at the expense of the British athlete (who also finished 4th at the last Olympics :bawling:)
We'll never know if he'd have won gold if that idiotic spectator hadn't shoved him off the track, but that's not the point. What on earth were the Greek police doing? Looking everywhere except where they should have been! :nono: That lunatic ran across from the other side of the road - they should have spotted him in plenty time and stopped him.
What a shame that this happened right at the end of an otherwise fantastic Olympic Games.

Picture it - a bar in a small French village with a small tv on in the corner showing the women's 1500m - the French completely ignoring it and four British holidaymakers shouting their heads off and jumping up and down in front of the screen. I think the rest of the people in the bar thought we had gone completely mad - especially as there were tears rolling down our faces. Well done Kelly - we made sure your achievement was celebrated in time honoured fashion.:joker::spin2::spin2::hello::hello:
Didnt see much else the French tv seemed to be only really showing bits where the French were doing well. I wonder why?
