A thread for all those who don't care about the chart and just love good music.

This applies for all non-mainstream/non-chart/unknown artists/songs old or new. :]

I'll edit this post and make it all pretty and whatever later.
Who wants to get the ball rolling?

I've been meaning to get into Santogold actually, I've seen a lot of praise for her recently.

I'm really into electropop atm, stuff like Annie, Frankmusik, Goldfrapp, Dangerous Muse etc.

^ I didn't think anyone would know of Annie. My friend stole my ipod and started playing 'What Do You Want (The Breakfast Song)' and started singing it all day 'cos it was catchy.

Goldfrapp's 'Supernature' album<3
Personally, I don't think they've surpassed it yet, musically.

I love Me Plus One, Always Too Late and Chewing Gum. I can't wait for her second album (I was devastated when it was put back to February).

I love the Supernature album but I did like Seventh Tree I quite like that type of folk music (It reminded me of people like Laura Marling, Bat For Lashes and Sia)

I wouldn't say The Smiths are non-mainstream. Although I was talking to someone the other day who had never heard of the Blues Brothers or The Clash.

"Not completely unknown"? I would say they are very well known. They are iconic.

I meant in comparison with the forum [perhaps I should've worded that better]. I feel more discussion about them would happen in here, than a single 'The Smiths' thread.

&Ross, I love Lisa's voice, not keen on the song. &Scott's kinda catchyy. Might listen to him more..

There are loads of songs I love by them. I am getting round to buying the new compilation "The Sound Of The Smiths". There is a 2 disc version with rare b-sides, live stuff and demos on the second disc.
