I'm one of billions lord of the rings/tolkien fans, just wandering if there are any more of 'my kind' here?

I love LOTR's, the books as well as the films. I read a lot of Sci-fi/Fantasy and these are certainly the classics of that genre.

I was quite sceptical before the films came out as to what they would be like, but I think Peter Jackson has done an excellent job - I would have probably made a few different decisions to him as to what to cut and what to leave in, but on the whole I think the films are a very good portrayal of the books. I'm looking forward to the extended edition of Return of the King coming out at the end of the year as I was one of those annoyed by the omission of the fate of Saruman and the Scourging of The Shire and felt that it was unfortunate that these were not in the cinematic edition of the film.
