Vickers 'blames Cole for X Factor exit'

Diana Vickers has allegedly blamed Cheryl Cole for her X Factor elimination.

According to The Mirror, the 17-year-old argued with Cole over her song choices - Avril Lavinge's 'Girlfriend' and Dido's 'White Flag' - and told her backstage that she should have picked them herself.

A source said: "First came the tears and then came the tantrums. Diana was acting like a spoilt kid. She and Cheryl had words backstage and Cheryl felt she needed to spend time with Diana."

Vickers went round to Cole's home for Sunday dinner in an effort to "patch things up", but was apparently still upset about her final weeks on the ITV talent show.

The source added: "She felt she should have been allowed to quit last week rather than be booted off. She knew that she'd already reached her peak. She felt she had lost the judges' support."

This is not real. Every interview she has done she has been nothing but gracious, she even said that she was going round Cheryl's for a roast dinner made by Cheryl's family on Sunday, the day after her eviction

That is because they just re-report what they find in the press. The story didn't actually break on the site since if you look about there are earlier versions of the story.

If you check the date and time the article was posted it is was around noon on the 9th, however Fametastic reported the same story on the 8th just after 7pm.

I knew this wasn't true when I read "and told her backstage that she should have picked them herself." - Diana did pick one of them herself, that was the whole premise of last week's show. Load of rubbish.

Although the story is probably untrue because of the gagging order in her x-factor contract prevents her from say negative things about the show. There might be more to this than meets the eye.

What struck me about last weeks performance by Diana was that in fact she could sing in a different style, which she showed her first song.

Now this leads me to think that all the times we had to sit through her singing in her pitchy style and songs she murdered where done because that is what Mrs Cole saw as her uniqueness that would win her the show.

Problem was it all started to back fire and people started to criticise Diana for being one dimensional. In order to rectify this Mrs Cole picked a number to show she could in fact sing other styles, but by then it was all too late for Diana, the damage had been done.

Now when the gagging order runs out we see this story re-emerge in the press this time with Diana really having ago at Mrs Cole?

but then again if the story in the Daily Mirror is to be believed then she signed to the show and Simple Simon for three months.

But then again both those stories could just be the press talking rubbish, like all the stories that said she was going to win the show and how talented she was.

Yeah sure, she has more talent in her little finger than Eoghan does in his whole body, if you only voted on talent that night then the final 3 would be Alex, Diana and JLS.

Which proves the point that the show isn't really based on talent. It's based on popularity, which is a whole lot different.

And, talent will get you places in your career post-show, whereas popularity wanes.

Not really, you have to like the talent that is offered, so alot of people musnt have thought they were talented enough

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. The way I see it is no matter if you win or lose X-Factor, American Idol, etc., you'll only thrive in the music business if you have enough talent.

I'm guessing Diana will have to wait a few months before she's released from her XF contract, so by then we'll see if she gets offered a deal and more importantly we'll see if she has what it takes.

One of us will be right.
