X Factor - Alexandra Burke didn't want to sing HallelujahAlexandra Burke was devasted when she was told what the X Factor winners song was as she knew Diana Vickers had impressed Simon Cowell with her version at bootcamp.
Alexandra revealed all to the official X Factor website: "When I first found out Hallelujah was going to be the winner's single, I went upstairs and cried.
"I always thought Diana would win.
"I listened to it, and I thought about it. It took a while to sink in. And I thought, you know, maybe I could try to do something with it. It definitely had potential!
"I wasn't confident at all. But I went with the flow and gave 100%."
Alexandra must be relieved that Diana has left the competition so is no longer a threat.
She added: "I always did say, everyone stands a really good chance of putting their own spin on it. I'm really looking forward to hearing the harmonies on the JLS version.
"And now it's completed, I am so glad to have had the opportunity to record this song. It does sound like me. I put my own mark on it. My version is a little bit soulful.
"And getting to release the winner's single means everything to me now."
