View Full Version : I went into Woolworths today and...
I nearly got crushed to death.
I wasn't looking for any BIG bargains. I just wanted a few CD's, DVD's and a good old Pic 'n' Mix.
I was in the queue which was like (-----------------------------------) that long haha. People kept pushing infront of me and some ungrateful old fart kept hitting everyone with her huge ironing board and some woman slapt her and it all kicked off. They stopped women coming in with prams it was hectic maaan.

Ahhaha, me too! I'm usually very mild-mannered, but if someone purposefully knocks me out the way or budges me with their trolly or basket I usually hit back (no I don't literally hit them lmao). I usually push their basket/trolly so it whacks their legs, or I elbow them.
Never been to woolworths in my life lol.
50%.........? most of the stuff is 10% if you're lucky......Cd's and DVD'S for example. Yeh, it is all a bit tragic. Damn I didn't see any catfights!:blush2:

I'm surprised there were any customers at all let alone a crush, apperentley a cadbury's selection box is selling at 25 pence more than the whole companys value at £1..
that dont sound much of a sale to me :joker:

I'm going in tomorrow for a pick & mix and maybe some games
but I hate queues and the type of people which my local Woolworths attracts so i'm not looking forward to it. I hope there are some arguments and fights in there again to keep me entertained while i'm in the queue

ouch, I find it fascinating watching people in the store and seeing them get more angry by the minute until they flip.
How did your friend react?
lily.

This is what happens when bargain hunters over-react (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/30/nyregion/30walmart.html)
Very sad.

Becca, any idea when Woolies is set to pull down the shutters for good? I've heard that when a Woolworths store runs out of stock, it has to close down.
