It's the 13th December today. Is anyone here superstitious about the number 13 or anything else for that matter?
I'm not superstitious in general, but I do this really weird thing. I NEVER have the stereo volume at 13 when I'm in the car. If it's at 12, and I wanna turn it up, I go to at least 14, and same if I'm turning it down, it's 14, then 12 etc. I dunno why I do it but I can't seem to stop myself! Yet, I don't do any other weird 13-related things.
Am I the only oddball on here? LoL

Its like depending on how many magpies you see together depends on what your day will be revolved around.
The rhyme.
1 for sorrow,
2 for joy,
3 for girl,
4 for boy,
5 for silver,
6 for gold,
7 for a secret, never to be told.

There was a programme on Radio 4, which I believe will be repeated on Sunday at 20:00, and it seems some streets will not have a number 13 as those houses are difficult to sell, because of this superstition.

I'm not sure if this is true Sticks.. you may be able to enlighten me here.. but I heard that high-rise buildings have floor 11, 12, 12a, 14, 15, etc.
And, I also heard that hotels do the same with room numbers.

There's no house with the number 13 on my street!
I'm not superstitious, I can't think of any superstitions that I have.

Wierd isn't it. I'd stay in a room 13 in a hotel. It wouldn't bother me.

My gran used to have some odd ones too. She had one about digging the garden on a Sunday. I've never heard anyone else say it either.

Now I'm guna have to do that too lol..
I always follow these superstitions:
Don't walk under a ladder
Don't put new shoes on the table
Don't cross somebody on the stairs
Salute at Magpies
Don't walk over 3 drains in a row
When crossing the road always look left first
Haha I'm so weird.

I don't follow regular people superstitions, but I form my own.
For example. Whenever I watch/listen to Sunderland play - they lose. And the moment I miss it - they win! Now I'm torn between watching them, or just leaving it and letting them win.
There's a few other things like this that I try and follow, or am superstitious about.
