Ok, Im watching 4Music....they are doing the Chrimbo No.1's of 97-07
I was enjoying some true classics such as Mad World, then....suddenly, the rest of it turned into X Factor winners...and it made me miss the days of classic songs like Mad World....
Why cant they release it just one week later?
I wouldnt mind the whole show as much then....

I agree with you. It ruins the anticipation of what cack will make it to #1.

It annoys me that some artists have worked on theirs since the summer time, and then some reality show winner gets No.1!

It's gonna keep happening until X Factor ends, and then after that another show will take its place and probably take the christmas number 1 too.

I used to enjoy seeing all the really good tracks coming out that week, alongside all the cheesy ones, and the charity ones, and seeing which one made it.

He makes enough money from the phone calls, surely he can wait

If there's one thing Simon Cowell is good at, it's making money!

I'm tired of Christmas records in general. Every friggin' year we're bombarded with the same songs over and over again.

To be honest I don't care what is Xmas No.1, as long as the person/s can sing!

Wow, I mean, it's just a song that's number one on a certain week? There'll still be Christmas songs out there, it's not like XF is abolishing all Christmas songs from the charts.
And there's hardly any NEW Christmas songs released these days. It's just the old classics re-entering the charts each year. They may have had a number one, now let someone else get the chance.

I was thinking more along the lines of the same old Slade, Wizzard and Wham records but if you want to include Jingle bells then go ahead. :spin2::whistle:

Exactly.
I don't get the fuss about that weeks number 1. I would rather have the X Factor winner than an Xmas song because you can't really listen to the Xmas number 1 in January if it was an Xmas song.
and the X Factor winner song is just giving people more choice rather than the same old songs every year.
The number 1 spot goes to the song which is most popular that week, obviously the X Factor song is more popular than other Xmas songs so it does deserve to chart better than them
Scarlett.

"Same old songs"
Arent XF songs always covers of classics?
The reason there are no decent new Christmas songs being released is because the big artists know they haven't a snowball in hell's chance of beating the XF winner, whoever it may be, and whatever they sing.
That's why people are turning to old Xmas songs.....Fairytale, Mariah, Wham, etc. etc..................and that's why they keep re-charting.
The fact that Fairytale of New York has never been number one, though, is bordering on a disgrace.

Agreed
It's getting very predictable and boring having the xf winner at number 1. They only way to stop it is if there is another band aid type song.

thats quite true!
the winner's song should just be released in the new year....so its like giving them the chance to start off as a true artist..
cuz releasing it on christmas week is a defenet grab on the top spot.

Write a christmas song then, find a record company and challenge it. LAZY!
