Has it started already?

Is it at the start of Advent

Christmas Eve?

Christmas Day

When is officially the start of the festive season?

I do have an ulterior motive for asking this question as visitors to the Creative Writng section will probably guess

It had more to do with just being 12 days before Christmas. I thought the 12 days of Christmas blah was about the 12 days after Christmas, starting on Christmas day?

You take your tree down 12 days after Christmas and there are arguments every year as to when the 12th day is. I have always followed the belief that Christmas Day is the 1st day of Christmas.

Christmas eve is the "eve" of Christmas so therefore Christmas day is the first day of Christmas.

Oh yeah I know the song refers to after xmas, but I mean 12 is like an important number of days for Christmas, so it's like 12 days either way? That's the way I always took it anyway, haha.

Christmas day is the first day of christmas. The period of feasting continues until epiphany, the 12th day after christmas, and the christmas season proper continues until candlemas, february 2nd, a full days after christmas.

then it would help if you specified WHICH festive season or festival you are asking about.

The question is ambiguous and even your opening post although eludes to christmas time, still dosnt actually say so, then you wonder why you get such vague answers.

The moderating you do on that "other" site must be a real treat to read :joker:

It's not really needing an explanation, is it?

He's only asking you to elaborate on your point. I didn't understand it either :conf2:
