Do you think it's better for C4 to not tell us any HM's going in on the day before and not show us any house pics and not tell us who is doing Little Brother and Big Mouth or is it better the way it is?

The housemates line-up is never 100% confirmed until the launch show so that's a bit of a surprise.

I'm not bothered about everything else - them releasing such material just promotes the show...

They need to get some names out before the show starts, otherwise less people would tune in to see them on launch night.

Michael Barrymore for example. He was rumored to be going in, and I think the producers leaked his name to up the hype for the launch. Even on launch, Davina said something along the lines of "Johnny Vegas, Michael Barrymore, Boy George - one of these is definitely going into the house tonight..".

I saw in another thread that if in the adverts, the celebs did the countdown - one for each day, for example:
10 Days - HM No.1
9 Days - NM No.2
8 Days - HM No.3
Etc. I think that would be a good idea because it would create a lot of speculation about who the HM's were and would tempt more people to watch the launch.

i would be thinking more along these lines:
10 days- HM No.1
8 days- HM No.2
6 days- HM No.3
4 days- HM.No4
2 days- HM. No5
Few hours before launch- HM No.6

I think that would be better because it would make people tune in to see who the other half of HMs are. If you reveal too many (1 each day), it would have no suprises.

They need to release information to get the press reporting on the show
If they has some big celebrities then I would like to see some adverts with the celebrities in them like they did with the housemates for the last Australian series

Let the press do the rumours but only the launch show should confirm who is in. It wasn't quite right with Celebrity Hijack when we knew who was going in before hand.

Obviously we should know who the hosts are and some house pics should be release - especially for Celeb BB where it's just a redecorated house from the previous series, but they shouldn't show us everything. They always used to keep the diary room chair secret, but they seemed to end that tradition last year. I think for Celeb BB it's best to release pics of anything that's similar to last year, but anywhere they've made major changes should be saved to reveal on launch night.

As for twists - it depends on whether they need to be kept secret from the housemates, but I do think if they're going with the Heaven and Hell theme it wouldn't be a bad idea to promote the series around that just to show it's going to be different from previous Celeb BB's.

Doesn't take much - just a simple line from Marcus or Davina. "12 celebrities - 1 house. It's going to be Heaven! Or Hell!".

With the recent rating Channel 4 should reveal not too much. So people WOUDL tune in.

I half agree. But if everyone is released, then it'd be bad for BB.

A lot of people tune in only on launch night just to see who is going in. If they already knew, they'd lose a lot of launch night viewers.

No, because if they revealed who's going in like in IAC then BB would lose an awful lot of launch night viewers seeing as the CBB contestants are not very big names and would disappoint people if they knew who the HM's were. Also, I like traditions and HM's aren't revealed before launch (not all of them (except for BBCH)) and it would ruin the tradition - like the Diary Room chair being kept a secret was stopped in June when the BB9 chair was released in a Press Pack.

but the I'm a Celeb... contestants are even worse that the CBB contestants, yet the show doesn't lose viewers on its opening night. So it could benefit Big Brother by releasing the names if it was a good line up. I think the CBB5 list if revealed would of boosted ratings for the launch.
but I agree its a tradition that shouldn't be broken, I didn't like it when we were shown the diary room chair before launch night for BB9 so I certainly wouldn't like to know who the housemates were

I'm sure I read that the diary room was only revealed because the sun got hold of the pictures, so they had to release them before the sun printed them

The IAC contestants are about the same level of Z-list as the CBB ones but the concept of IAC has not become tired and worn out like BB, which is why it gets more views (like back when BB3 was on - the launch and finale were getting around 10 million viewers). I couldn't resist looking at the bunch of HM's for BBCH but when I did it ruined the launch night and seeing as the series was pretty poor as well, it wasn't really worth knowing who was going in and who the hijackers would be.

It's Ant and Dec which keep I'm a Celeb alive. Personally I think the format tired years ago and I've not watched it really since Kerry Katona won. There's only so many times you can see a celebrity chewing some poor creatures testicles!

Need plenty of surprises on launch night. Leaking a big name like Barrymore was fine as it created loads of publicity for the show and brought in extra viewers. None of the six women named in the Star today come close to that.

CBB4 is the perfect example - they leaked a big name in Barrymore, and then surprised everyone (especially the press) when they revealed George Galloway in the launch show itself.
