I saw this and thought that the 'good' acts were hopeless and the bad ones embarassing.

And you can guarantee that if 50000 people audition the judges will only see a few of them. These can be described in one of the following groups: genuinely talented, complete rubbish, the type that is likely to talk back to the judges or someone who will cry when rejected.

Sharon Osbourne was good though.

A BUSTY singer has told her lawyer to demand an apology from X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne — because she criticised her for not wearing a BRA.

Corinne Graehame — a 44DD — says she felt “publicly humiliated” by Sharon, 50.

The 51-year-old, from Nottingham, said: “I’d lost my voice so Sharon quipped that I’d obviously lost my bra too.

“I know I’ve got big boobs and they don’t always swing in the same direction, but who cares?”

Corinne, who cannot wear a bra because of a skin condition, added: “Kids in rehab, married to a nutter — Sharon’s got a real nerve.”

It's Fuller v Cowell

TELLY tycoon Simon Fuller is suing Simon Cowell over his new talent series The X Factor — claiming it’s a rip-off of Pop Idol.
Lawyers issued writs against TV’s Mr Nasty after carefully watching footage of the two ITV1 song contests.

Fuller is the creator of Pop Idol and Cowell found fame as a judge on the show.

The X Factor and Pop Idol both feature thousands of eager wannabes auditioning across the UK for a chance at stardom.

The only real difference is that Pop Idol contestants have to be aged 16-26.

But there is no age limit on The X Factor, which has already auditioned an 81-year-old granny.

Fuller’s company 19 TV is preparing a video comparing the shows’ logos, music and camera angles.

It has issued writs for breach of copyright and contract against 44-year-old Cowell, his production companies and X Factor co-producer FreemantleMedia.

Cowell — worth around £45million — faces paying out hundreds of thousands of pounds if a judge rules he copied the Pop Idol format.

He could even lose his job as a judge on American Idol — the rights of which belong to Fuller.

Only weeks ago he laughed off reports that Fuller, 43, would be upset that he had “nicked” the Pop Idol format.

He said: “Lighten up a bit now. We can both get our shows made. Let’s enjoy it.”

But a spokesman for Fuller — worth £220million — said he did not want to force The X Factor off the air.

Frankly I don't see any talent in any of them and that includes the judges. They are all bonkers in their judgments and comments and what ever other trashy tacky gunge that the show churns out. X factor indeed. only adults without a nervous disposition should be allowed to view it.

I am in favour of writing to Ofcom to get the de-humanised trash removed from the planet, the universe including the alternative universes and any where else one can think of to save whats left of the sanity of mankind.

The animal world does not deserve to be inflicted with humans driven insane by the droolish half baked mutterings of a group of judges that should be certified for agreeing to listen to such trash that contestants are inhuman enough to inflict on all who can't escape from a TV set.

I guess someone may have noticed that I don't like the program......:hugesmile:

This seems to be a very odd programme to me - there was Louis putting everyone through because they were in Ireland. There reasons for putting through go over my head - several who I thought were pretty good got put to one side and others who I thought were rubbish sailed through. I dont like how they keep trying to break up groups by picking on one member and saying they should have done a solo audition. Also Simon how two faced are you that girl who gave up her honeymoon - she had a great voice, but what did you say "you have got to lose weight". In Pop Idol you said size didnt matter where Michelle was concerned. Be consistent Simon. The group of three black girls with fantastic voices were told their image wasnt right, but not to lose weight.

BusyBee . You have summed up all the reasons why I believe the show to be unwatchable rubbish..

A boy/girl duo and the girl was demoralized by being told she was not in harmony with the lad. To me I thought they sounded great together. These critisisms is as alway to make so called good TV. Get the viewers hot under the collar. Get the viewers to enjoy the mini drama out of hurting and destroying promising singing careers.

Talent shows throughout the ages have had panel members who make a name for themselves by destroying the ambitions of young and old talent alike. Panel members who have little talent themselves exept to mouth off and put others down.

Frankly I am sick of it. This sadism is enetertainment!!! I think not...As they reject and split the good ones and let through talentless ones I have seen better garbage in my dust bin than this "X" factor series is turning into.

X-Factor flop Paul Holt could be on his way to winning £50,000 from Simon Cowell.

Cowell told him: "If you get a record deal and a No 1 single, I'll give you a cheque for £50,000."

Paul has now signed a record deal and the bookies make him the 20/1 sixth favourite for the Christmas No 1.

His novelty record - called Fifty Grand for Christmas - attempts to turn the tables on Cowell, says the Mirror.

Paul, 37, from Bury, said: "I think I've got as good a chance as anybody. This is an incredible bonus I never expected and I hope tyhe public can get behind me.

"Fifty grand is a drop in the ocean to Simon but to me it's four years wages. He would look like a fool if he didn;t pay up."

Cowell made his offer after rubbishing the call centre worker's attempt to cover Cilla Black's You're My World

Anyone else having trouble working out how they have picked their last three?

Simon says that if one of them (cant remember his name) walked into his office with the other four he would give him a record contract - then goes and leaves him out of his final 3. And as for picking Verity because the public will like her - I thought this was supposed to be a 'talent contest' and he has already said that she has the weakest voice.

Cant see any of Louis' 3 making it in the real world

And as for Sharon - make your mind up girl. I bit Andy felt a bit hard done by when he saw the show and found that he was in the top three, and then she changed her mind.

Are they picking the best of who they think the public will vote for?

rachb
18-10-2004, 07:03 PM
I agree BusyBee I thought that Andy was much better than the girl that she picked.
I really did think Simon was wrong not to put in the man that was a vocal coach he had a great voice much better than Verity.

Here's some news...

Rush of money on X Factor's Steve

Bookies have seen a rush of money on X Factor contestant Steve Brookstein.

William Hill have cut the odds on him winning from 7/1 to 11/2.

"Although Steve's desire to win has been questioned our customers obviously think differently, causing us to cut his odds", said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Rowetta Satchell is still favourite to win the show with odds of 3/1, with Tabby in second place on 4/1 and G4 in third place with 9/2.

Simon Cowell is now the bookies' favourite to win the battle of the managers with odds of 5/4.

Sharon Osbourne is in second place with 15/8 and Louis Walsh in third with 2/1.

Still cant get over how on earth both Roberta and Voices with Soul got the lowest votes. They definitely didnt deserve that. To my mind Cassie and 2 to Go plus Verity. But who am I to judge. The Great British Public makes up its own mind and its true we are softies and vote for people we feel sorry for. Just hope in the future programmes people vote for performances.

Unfortunately they're not different though, Lance.

Simon Cowell  recently launched a new group called 'Il Divo' which costs of 4 opera singers who sing modern songs. They currently have a version of Toni Braxton's 'Unbreak My Heart' out, and sang it on Parky's show a few weeks ago. They're very good too - much better than G4 IMHO.

The X Factor is all about the fight between the judges as far as I'm concerned - the contestants seem to come a poor second. Even the final decision as to who's eliminated each week is ultimately down to the judges. :nono:

I must admit I thought of G4 when I saw the advertisement for Il Divo who are sooo much better. Dont think there is a place for two groups so similar.

Quite agree I honestly dont think this is a show where the best singer/s will win or have been chosen. Still cant understand how Simon can say to someone that if they walked into his office he would sign them up and then not put them in his top 3. Doesnt make sense.

There is too much competitiveness between the judges. Can see if one of Simon's is in the last two Sharon and Louis will vote them off however good they are just because they are in his group.

I think tahat whatever happens there will be nothing different to come out of the x factor!

TBH who is something that we havent seen before? To me Voices With Soul are probably the most unique thing as there isnt anything like them around at the moment..apart from the WeatherGirls but theyre well gone!

Rowetta,Tabby,G4,Steve,Cassie,Verity are all clones of someone else(well except the older guys!)

2 To Go also have the exception because there arent many boy/girl duo out at the mo...until the next Popstars series!

I watched some of the results show on Saturday and thought it looked alright.

But the show seems to be as much about the so-called rivalry between the judges as it does the artists. If that continues it could sink the winner's chances of career at the end.

And I don't think the voting format is a very good idea - giving the judges the final say on who goes. It's like the US election - millions of votes are cast and then the final decision is made by a split vote in the Supreme Court!

Even though I agree with everyone's points about it being more about the judges, I still think Sharon kicks ass and most of the contestants are brilliant (not keen on Steve though and 2 To Go are distinctly average, lol).

I see from the official site that this week there will not have to be any 'soul searching' if Simon's are in the bottom two because the public vote will count for who has to go. About time too, cos I think the judge's have not been best placed to choose.

It also seems Simon has been winding Sharon up by saying that her burglary was 'good publicity'. How crass. Fur will be flying on Saturday!!

So Rowetta the only one with any "X" factor has gone. What is left......G4 a confused bunch of off the wall barber shop singers. Steve who I wouild hire as a singer to clear out any rodents from the area and Tabby. Of which...

The teeny bop brigade will vote for anything that makes a noise and jumps about......

Rowetta was probably cheated by the system. when I tried to vote for her via interactive I had to make several attempts to over come an "error" message with the phone connection. A lot of her voters were probably put off or couldn't get through... BB all over again........

There is no talent left that is worth the time of day.....So goodby the "X" factor for me.

Well Tabby has gone - dying to know how Simon will cope if G4 wins. They are so like Il Diva. Is the world ready for two groups like that. Personally I hope Steve wins basically because I love his choice of songs and I think it will be good for the industry if an 'oldie' wins and that blond one in G4 is getting too big for his boots.

And Kaz I do so hope Julian wins Come Dancing. He is appearing in Panto in Bristol this year and we have tickets - perhaps he will give us a reprise of his dancing.

Judging on last night's performances ( I taped X Factor and watched it later on today ), G4 might just win this.

Have either of them got the x-Factor to make people go out in their hundreds of thousands and buy their records ... and go along to their tours ..... sadly, I don't think so. In spite of what I said about it being over for me after Rowetta went I did never the less watch it.

Tabby eliminated is not what I expected. Even more alarming why oh why is that dreadfully average boring singer of boring songs "Steve" still there. How in fact did he get through the auditions. I suppose his silly grin sends some women off on some sort of mental trip.

What would let Tabby down is that he wanders out of tune. I cringed the other day when he sung on the "This morning show" So badly out of tune that anyone would have noticed. No good for a serious musical carreer.

G4 surprised me as I have not thought much of them to date. Their Saturday performance though I thought was outstanding. If the likes of Steve wins then it will be a bigger farce than it has been to date..... Somehow I think the public are just mad enough to give him the crown.

Then within a few months he will be history and forgotten about.....One can only hope.........

BusyBee
07-12-2004, 01:39 PM
I was very surprised to see Tabby go - though perhaps it had a lot to do with his rendition of Sailing which I thought was awful. Perhaps many of his fans thought he was a cert.

As for G4 - they should get a job as a Queen tribute act - they are brilliant at any Queen song. Dont like their operatic slant on things though and I do wonder how Simon will cope with two similar acts in his camp if they win. And that Jonathon is getting too big for his boots - talk about over-confident, it is going to his head. I didnt care one way or the other about Louis, but I now feel he is full of himself.

As for Steve - I love his songs sorry Banarama, though not as good as the originals.

Who will win, I am not sure as Simon says you either love G4 or hate them, and Steve is middle of the road. I too will sit on the fence.

If Steve wins then after his initial success he will fade into oblivion as he is less than average when it comes to singing. He has a winning smile and no doubt he is a nice guy. But "X" factor !!! No way. No where. No time. He could get a job at a cheese factory as his voice will turn milk to cheese faster than any other process known to man.

G4 if they win may have more logevity but that will depend on the songs they manage to re-arrange and ruin. Mostly they are to gimmicky and sound most of the time like run of the mill somewhat confused barber shop singers.

Rowetta was the only true fully formed talent deserving of the "X" factor title. Too many young people watching the show and wasting votes on the likes of Tabby the out of tune noise machine for Rowetta to have ever stood a chance of winning.

One thing I hate about the "X" facror is all the sentimentality gimmicks that have been pulled of by the judges.
Tabby singing with children and acting more like a politition peddling for votes by kissing babies...

G4 and one of then crying because his mother was not there as she was ill which turned out to be nothing more than a cold. That no doubt won a lot of sympathy votes.

All this has nothing to with getting reactions from the public based on "TALENT" and not sob stories and personal begging for votes. If you have got this far and are still awake then my rant is over. For now.....

What a long, drawn out affair the final was.

Far too much attention paid to the sniping and bickering among the judges ...... and Sharon Osborne's remarks about Steve - true or not - probably had just the opposite effect to the one she wanted in that they probably made Steve fans lift the phone and vote for him again. :spin2:

Louis Walsh just couldn't help slipping in mentions of Westtripe at every opportunity - irritating little git that he is. :bored:

Oh, yes ......... the 2 finalists ....... nearly forgot about them.

Of the two, I thought G4 sang the better, but there's no way I'd buy an album or go along to one of their concerts - a couple of songs at a time is more than sufficient. Have a sneaky feeling that Jonathan will part company with the other three in the not too distant future and try to make a solo career, which would be a shame for the other three.

Steve was OK - his first song was the best one for me. I was a bit shocked at how unprofessional he was when trying to sing after he'd been announced as the winner. For gawd's sake - Will, Michelle, Girls Aloud and Alex all managed to compose themselves and sing it properly ..... it was embarrassing to watch.

Just wonder how long it'll be before Slimon loses interest in Steve - just like he did with Gareth and Michelle ......... the pop industry is a cut-throat business today. :spin2:

Sharon's intervention on a personal basis did the trick and ensured a large sympathy vote for the that total rubbish singer Steve. This contest has been judged on sentimental tom foolery instead of talent. Another "Sob" session from Steve also inevitably provoked some sentimental votes.

To think we are going to have another series of this garbage. Maybe an asteroid wil hit the earth before then and put us all out of our misery.....

Dearie me. What a debacle. What an odd outburst by Sharon.
Did it backfire on her, or was it planned.

Will Steve be around this time next year to make the Christmas Album?
Will G4 do the clubs?
Does anyone really care?

BTW, what happened to Alex Parks and Michelle McManus??

BusyBee
14-12-2004, 05:20 PM
Well Alex should still be living in her flat which was on a year's lease. As for Michelle = who knows.

As for Sharon I quite admired a fellow Mrs O until Saturday, but thought there was absolutely no need for her personal attack on Steve. It is only a show and everyone is putting on an act. I'm sure a lot of people did pick up the phones and vote for him following that so it all blew back in her face. And now we get the 'it was fixed' media coverage from Louis and Sharon saying Simon's acts had more time for rehearsals etc. Is it a case of sour grapes because their acts didnt win? Though I would have loved to see how Simon coped with two similar acts in his company - who would have got preferential treatment. Il Divo or G4 - we will never know.

Perhaps if there is a new series we wont have to hear 'Westlife do it better' all the time from Louise (sorry freudian slip there).

And how long before Jonathon goes solo or goes into a West End Show.

I felt sorry for that lad with the lovely voice who Sharon picked and then publicly chose Tabby instead. I thought he was very good.

Next series I would like Louis to have the young ones, Simon the groups and Sharon the older section.

X Factor Winner Booed Off Stage

Steve Brookstein had a sample taster of the infamous hostile crowd, when he was booed off stage not once but THREE times at his first gig since winning X Factor.

The soul-singer turned up to perform at The Radio 1 and Top Of The Pops Christmas Party, only to be greeted by a wall of booing and jeering.

It got so bad DJ Scott Mills had to cajole the 2,000-strong crowd at London's Shepherds Bush Empire to give him another chance, which they did... but only until he started singing.

According to one guest, as soon as he started warbling, the booing struck up again, Steve forgot his words and had to apologise to the crowd:

"He was extremely shaken and looked to be holding back tears. It made him look like a novice, especially alongside the likes of Kylie Minogue, who also sang."

Just 24 hours after winning the X Factor vote, the 36-year-old crooner had to admit: "I don't think I appeal to a lot of younger people. There was a lot of noise and the booing just threw me. Hopefully I'll get through it."

And it wasn't just the unwelcome crowd participation that Steve found hard to handle, but the backstage probing by journalists also riled him somewhat.

After being asked whether his first album was going to be full of cover versions, he snapped back: "Actually, it is not going to be an album of covers. The album is going to be good."

After a short while, his PR stopped the interviewing - perhaps aware that Steve's 15 minutes of fame could well be ticking away.

I saw the ex-second hand car salesman perform on Top Of The Pops last week and felt it was the most emotionless, soulless performance I've seen of "Against All Odds" ever televised. To use a phrase by Cowell, it was cabaret from start to finish - which is insulting to cabaret singers!

On the last show of the X-Factor, I phoned and voted 3 times for G4. They are original, fresh and would appeal to people young and old with their virtuoso singing style. But, surprise, surprise they lost to some talentless pseud. It seems every reality show I get involved in attracts people from a parallel universe voting for these losers to win:

Michelle McManus
Cameron Stout
Nadia
And now Steve
