View Full Version : Some posters...

On here don't get enough credit for what they post.

I've seen alot of members lately, post valuable points about the subject in hand and they get totally blanked out by other users who either started the thread/has something bad to say about the point originally made.

Seriously, this isn't me having or go or to start another arguement or whatever and I'm not saying you should reply to everyones posts but I mean, some of yeh (maybe I could included in this) need to step back and stop quoting the same people over and over again and actually read what some members have to say. They are generally on topic and are amazing posts that you can read, wether you disagree or agree or agree to disagree. They float about on here, causing no drama and don't even get recognized.

S'all I gotta say.
Happy posting everyone.

I agree, it seems to be a lot of the members who don't really have a big ego and some which don't really speak to other members away from the forum.

It would be nice for everyone to be included in discussions.

Lewis.

I think a lot of members make Brilliant posts, which get overshadowed by a few who make stupid, irrelivant posts

I think one of the members included in this would actually be Michelle, I really respect her. She makes relevant, really interesting posts and I really don't think she gets the credit she deserves.

Every member makes an irrelevant post at some point.

You can't blame people for talking to certain people. Members are bound to have got closer to certain members over a period of time.

If you feel people get overshadowed then vote them in the TiBB Nominations or something, a good way to recognise good posts.

Ross

I don't think it's fair for me to mention names... it would be unfair because they might not want to get their name splattered all over the thread.

If you read enough peoples posts, you'd see who I mean.

Lewis.

Only problem with that though is that some members are still likely to vote for their forum favourites.

100% agree with you. Theres quite a few great posters here who seem to get shoved aside and its not very fair. It's good to have friends on here and stuff, but its not good when they're literally the only people you talk to.

Greg.!

For "them" now I don't think it's fair to make them sound like aliens.

All I'm saying is people need to pay more attention to what posts people make. You either listen or ya don't.

it probably does to the person who recieves the vote, they get to see the recognition for themselves, that can mean everything despite being just one vote amongst many.

That's another thing, members shouldn't be afraid of what another member is going to say to them... it's your opinion, if they don't like it then that is their problem.

pinkmichk, Sticks, GhettoSuperstar, rayheartbliss and Corkie, taking a few examples, are people who frequently post and rarely get credit for it. I'd also like to take the time to ask people, what is the point in picking on the likes of Conzors, Firewire and Lewis all the time? Seriously, it's the Internet - don't take it so seriously. I'm willing to bet most of the people who I see treating those three like crap wouldn't be like that in real life, I doubt anybody is that cold hearted that they can slate someone so easily to their face, so why should you do it over the Internet? Particularly when you consider how (relatively) young Firewire and Lewis are, it's despicable.

That post makes me incredibly angry (not at you, Lewis :P) because you're putting yourself down for being creative. I don't think it's fair that people tell you that you're annoying for coming up with ideas, and it's even worse that you're agreeing with them! There was a poster on here last year about your age, not sure if you were here then. His username was Posted and he used to get a lot of stick, particularly because he was a fan of Pete Burns.

I think that was probably what drove him away from here.

I think Ross has made a really good point.

I don't think it's so much recognising and praising the person that needs to happen. More just making sure to remember what the forum is really about, BB and not getting too carried away with unrelated or private jokes. Or rather just make sure you do actually respond to the thread question as well as the other stuff.

It's not like it's getting really bad or anything at all!
But all these stupid tedious comments or people replying with a completely unrelated BB comment are starting to really get on my nerves. (And I've only been posting for the last few days (recently) )

People just like to read posts by those they know and those they don't really know they just kind of skip past. I mean its quite obvious in things like TiBB nominations where you're supposed to nominate on posts, but hardly anyone does. Thats quite obvious with the names that are said and the reasons. I include myself in all of that.

Just picking out an example I think one of the most overlooked people on here definitely has to be pinkmichk- great poster but doesn't really get involved with pointless chat, "friendships" etc but sometimes her posts with a really good point get lost in the middle of a thread of people who are just talking to eachother.

So very true,
the other point to remember about "good" posts and oppinions is... its harder to add to them apart from quote the entire post they have written.
Posts which have no content such as this example are then often ridiculed or not allowed, which adds to the increasing pressure on the poster who wants to support such an oppinion.
More often than not Pink does leave such good value posts which I have come across and can only quote with a one line support.
What is good about this thread is at least now it has highlighted who is a good poster and what is a good post, and some reasons why there not always so obviously recognised.
Its always easier highlighting the bad posts:wink:

I see what you're saying, but in fairness this kind of thing is almost characteristic of a forum.

You're likely to quote people you get on with, although it'd help if this kind of thing was generally kept to a select few threads rather than everywhere - where it's possible for newer/less active members to feel awkward about it. Having said that, in threads where there's lots of discussion, I'd hope that most members do read most of the post in order to take in all the views on board. And even if they don't, the main thing is that everyone feels comfortable enough to post their views and not worry about any other alternative discussions/debates that are going on. Sometimes it can be difficult breaking in to a long chain of quoting/debating, and I respect those who do it in order to get a thread back on track.

Its hard when threads like these are being made... no harm to Ross as I love him epically. Its just I think i need to re-think what I post, to be taken seriously on this forum.

Jen, this wasn't directed at you in any way.

I just mean the forum as a whole. I'm not stopping anyone from posting what they did before, I'm just saying people need to read the majority of everyones posts in a thread. Not just their friends.

Ive noticed that,Also i hate when the younger members get picked on and beliddled(Is that the right word? lol).

Lewis made a good point the other day,it was about a game he was running everyone wa giving him stick he said if it was a popular member evryone would love the idea.Which i agreed with.

It seems people dont give members a chance therefore their posts get overlooked Such as RayHeartBliss hes a brilliant poster but never seems to get recognized.

Some members get satisfaction from ganging up on some members also which is pretty sad when we are on a Big Brother forum.

I hate when some members write like ILY or Fail or something its like  they probably didnt evan read the post.

It was Billy in particular with Hannah who made that point yesterday to Lewis's game.
It was a point I noticed late but as it was sufficiently made by Billy I left my contribution out as I didnt want to "clutter" another thread, maybe I should of merely quoted him and risked a mini (if any) backlash from other members who dont like "non content" posts.

But your right Mambosambo and I also agree about Rayhaertbliss being a very able and good poster too.
Now they have been attributed aswell says a lot for this very good and timely thread.

Tbf, Rayheartbliss does sometimes just post "lol" "o_O" etc which gets frustrating.

He was the first person on my ignore list.
It's like I said (one of the few times I left) this forum is very, very cliquey, and it kind of makes you feel left out if you aren't in this "special" clique.

I'm apprecting AyeAye_XO's view on Chavs, I think it's brilliant that she's fighting the stereotype today, I think she deserves credit for it. = )
