If you look on the forum homepage you will see a mobile phone shoutbox that's been added.
Feel free to use it, but please read the TERMS on it before doing it... it will charge you 50p :cat:
There's some other phone updates soon being added, so watch this space.

I think it's an extremely pointless addition.
It's also a complete waste of money to text in considering anyone can post any message they like in the forum below - which will appear instantly - for nothing.
Then don't use it :wavey:
edit: Also the shoutbox appears on the new TIBB Homepage, as well as here.

Ahhh it just occured to me.. can you see peoples phone numbers?
Yeah, but they get deleted from as soon as your message appears on the shoutbox. If you click TERMS it says that we don't sell/post your number... only the last 3 digits :lovedup:

Stupid money making scheme - even BBLB and Big Mouth charge no more than 12p a message.
On the plus side though, really like the new Celeb BB theme - which makes a change.
I'd say theres 75% chance I LOSE money from it. Heavy costs to use that number, and the fact networks take a huge chunk for every message. I did originally set it up at 25p, but that meant for every person txting in I lost money.
Like I said before, if you don't like it don't use it. It's only a bit of fun :blush2:

If Mark was making money from it then it would probably help to pay towards the running costs of the website.

i think its a bit of a daft idea espically as i go on some forums and they have the shout box but you dont pay owt

Hardly a money making scheme when the owner of the forum pays general running costs and added extra costs without asking any of us members to pay a penny.
He's put it on here, it's optional. It's an alternative to ads on the site, which I'm sure people would complain about as well. Not only this, but I'm sure he paid out his(and James') own money to implement it too.

Don't like it personally, looks a bit tacky and it takes up quite a bit at the top along with the other two boxes, the left one I don't even understand it's purpose but meh each to their own I suppose.

DS charge a fee if you have an unreliable e-mail like hotmail etc.

If there's a 75% chance that Mark is going to lose money from it rather than gain it then it would make sense to get rid of it. If you want the shoutbox, then use a regular one which people can post to instantly without a charge.
I know I'd rather spend my money on a Big Brother vote - and they're 15p cheaper too.

Well in that case where is the sense in having it? Surely a standard shoutbox would do the job just as well.
No because a normal shoutbox would be overused, and spammed to death.
I'm quite happy to break even on it all, if it happens then great. And Matt I'm a gambler :devil:
