Heavy Snow and Ice is forecast to effect Southern Eastern areas throughout the next 24 hours according to forecasters at Kwik Weather Forecasting Services.

A band of heavy snow will move down the Eastern side of the UK reaching as far west as Birmingham and as far south as Southampton, will already below zero temperatures conditions are perfect for a laying snowfall.

KWFS Senior Forecaster Rob Howard adds "Temperatures will fall overnight under clear skies, but don't let this fool you, during the early hours of the morning a band of heavy snow will move southwards to all southern and eastern areas, around an inch can be seen but some places may see two."

The Highways Acency is currently gritting roads and has a full fleet of gritters ready to go out overnight.
