Turn off shoutbox/recap/theme ad boxes?

I know that the admins have said before that it take a while to implement options to turn things off, but if it's been done before then it can be done again.

Can we please have the option to turn off the shoutbox, the BB recaps advert and the theme advert at the top of the forum index? I don't know about anyone else, but they're really beginning to annoy me now.

Cynical side of me thinks its to make a bit of money off the back of the site, otherwise I bet the shoutbox would be one where you just type in your comment like what most sites have

This site costs a fair bit to keep online each year. We aren't even looking to make profit from it, it's not our main focus. A lot of people put a LOT of time into this site you know :)

It's this or 5-6 big flashy ads on every page... which will it be? :thumbs:
