I have no idea who either of these people are!!

Now if you're looking for people who can't sing, I can think of a couple.

Has Clare Sweeney been one one of these yet? If not, she's bound to volunteer. Not to mention the Ingrams, Jade (or Jeff ) Terry Christian, That awful Wife swap woman, etc.

Please, please though NOT Michelle.

Her rendition of Pie Jesu is with me still.

Despite counselling

Asbestos found on Fame Academy set

The multi-million-pound television company behind Big Brother has admitted failing to protect employees from asbestos during the filming of reality show Fame Academy.

Endemol UK plc, which has a turnover of more than £100 million a year, had failed to protect employees and others from exposure to the substance at the location of the first series of the BBC show, City of London Magistrates' Court heard.

Magistrates were told that none of the participants is thought to have been exposed to the asbestos in Highgate, north London, despite having lived and rehearsed at the site.

I loved this last time, great show

Something else to watch till BB6, before you know it BB6 will have started,

As for another thread as to when BB6 starts usually about the same time as last year. With news it's going to be on much longer that may mean an earlier start or a later finish. :spin2: :spin2: Just have to wait for more news Mike :spin2: :spin2:

Let's hope that the 'usual suspects' dont gatecrash this programme. It would be nice to see or hear people who havent succumbed to themust be in any reality tv that's going syndrome.

Oh my god, just imagine if Jade was a late entrant.

Oh just the thought, I must go and lie down and take a few tranquilisers.

Kim is favourite to win Fame Academy

EastEnders star Kim Medcalf is the 2/1 favourite to win Celebrity Fame Academy, according to the bookies.

Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush said: "Kim didn't murder Dirty Den and we think she's the least likely to murder her songs.

"She looks the one to beat as she regularly sings on television while the majority are unknown quantities."

Stand-up comic Al Murray, who appeared on Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen reality show, is 5/1, alongside Top of the Pops presenter Reggie Yates.

Corrie's Debra Stephenson and Monarch of The Glen actress Dawn Steele are 7/1.

The other contestants' odds are: John Culshaw and Ade Edmondson (8/1); Christopher Colquhuon and Gina Yashere (10/1) and Edith Bowman (12/1).

The rank outsiders are Jenny Eclair and Nick Knowles at 16/1.

Fame Academy is back and it's bigger and better than ever - we've even got a brand new Academy!

Comic Relief Does Fame Academy 2005 is a star-studded extravaganza in which 13 well-known celebrities go head-to-head in the ultimate singing competition that asks stars to reach every high note and scale every arpeggio to raise money for good causes in the UK and abroad.

Hosts Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty also return to present this extended series from the stunning new Academy on the banks of the Thames. The hopeful stars have to transform themselves and their voices in order to perform live on stage every evening and avoid being voted out.

But first, the celebrities will be asked to take part in a preliminary 'sing off' as the 13 are reduced to 12. On Saturday 26th February at 6.10pm on BBC ONE, watch as each celebrity performs their chosen number and then vote for ten of the students to stay by either phone or text.

The judges vote to keep an eleventh celebrity and the pressure is cranked up to maximum as the students themselves must choose a lucky twelfth star.

Over the following 10 days, under the watchful eyes of coaches Carrie and David Grant, choreographer Kevin Adams, music coach Tim Maple and tutor Jeremy Milnes, the students perform live from the Academy every night on BBC ONE. At the end of each show, one is expelled until just three are left for the final showdown on Red Nose Night on Friday 11th March.

The judges offering their professional opinions are opera star Lesley Garrett and notorious head teacher Richard Park, as well as a mystery judge who will be dropping in unexpectedly. Who is this? You'll just have to tune in to find out!

BBC THREE viewers can turn over straight after the BBC ONE show every night until Thursday 10th March, where Claudia Winkleman has the exclusive first interview with the expelled celebrity student. Broadcast live from the Academy, BBC THREE has exclusive interviews and all the latest gossip.

Digital viewers will also be able to follow all the action as BBCi gives fans the ultimate access with continuous broadcasts direct from the Academy each day from 9am to midnight. An additional highlights show will be broadcast every hour, on the hour, for viewers who missed out on vital events from earlier in the day.

And of course, check back to this very site for up-to-the-minute news as it happens plus video clips from deep within the Academy. CBBC1 and CBBC channel are also following the celebrity songsters every day with a live show presented by Jake Humphrey featuring special guests and in depth insight into life at the Academy.

Whether they turn out to have voices of angels or voices that shatter glass, it doesn't matter because for Comic Relief, it's all about just doing something fun and helping out with a good cause!

Well that was a pretty good show I thought. Same Fame Academy... Richard Park namedropping as usual .

Seems like about half the celebs are trained singers though. I'd have kept in John, Jenny and Al but they were the bottom 3.

Everyone's a singer Saturday 26th February

Al Murray has sensationally been booted out of the Fame Academy after his fellow students chose Jon Culshaw to stay. Al's rendition of Stuck In The Middle With You wasn't enough to keep him on the books.

Following tonight's live sing off, the public voted in their masses to initially keep 10 celebrities in the Academy based in central London.

The students arrive in the Academy on Wednesday, but tonight was the first chance for judges and public alike to hear what they're made of. There where ups and downs – headmaster Richard Parks was heard to mention that the ghost of Elvis could rest easy. But the singing stars all gave their best.

With the tension mounting, the judges nominated Jenny Eclair as their favourite of the remaining three.

So it was left to the successful 11 celebrities to make an agonising decision of who to save. Al, better known as the pub landlord, will have to go back to polishing his glasses and wondering just why he came here tonight.

Let's hope they don't live to regret their verdict over the next few days - on Wednesday another student will bite the dust!

Eclair expelled
02 March 2005

It was a gutsy performance complete with a syncopated tap routine, but it failed to save Jenny Éclair from being expelled from the Academy.

Jenny put her heart and soul into belting out All That Jazz and wowed the studio audience with her tap dancing skills, and hopes were high that she would make it through to the next round.

'I'm going for the gay vote,' she said before taking to the stage, 'and the old ladies, but they can only vote once on their pensions.'

Nine celebrities were saved by viewers' votes, leaving Jenny, Chris Colquhoun and Reggie Yates to face the judges' selection. They voted three to one to keep Chris in the Academy, but there was surprise support for Jenny from hard line headmaster Richard Park.

Reggie and Jenny clung to each for moral support as the other students decided which of them to save. Jenny pleaded with them not to vote for her, claiming she was due on stage having secured a role in Chicago.

But with six votes going to Reggie and only four plumping for Jenny, he survives to sing another day while Jenny will be catching the last bus home.

Will Reggie make it through the next round? Only you can decide! Catch Comic Relief Does Fame Academy on Thursday 8th March at 8pm on BBC ONE.

I so want Edith to win. She has overcome her sore throat (passed it on to me) and is back to being first class. She has a different voice and there is no acting or so called emotion - just a good song, sung really well. I havent voted yet, but if she is there on the final night then I think I might be using the telephone to make my vote count for her. If not her then I would like Reggie to win - he has so come on. Would be lovely to have someone win who is not known to be a singer.

I loved the Adrian and Edith duo last night - so cleverly thought out and very entertaining which is what the show is all about. Got a feeling that Kim thinks she has it won already.

And the winner is... Edith!
11 March 2005

Edith is the winner of Fame Academy after 10 days of performances and drama and a nail-biting finale with Kim.

After Adrian had been voted out in the semi-final, Edith and Kim had to perform a new song each.

Edith triumphed to wild applause from the judges, teachers, fellow students and the studio audience with Champagne Supernova.

Richard Park enthused, "You've done yourself proud." Lesley agreed, "At last we see Edith where she belongs, bashing it out with a big band."

It's been a rollercoaster ride for all concerned in the Fame Academy with each contestant feeling the pressure at some point. But, as the show drew to its climax, the remaining students began to realise more and more how much money their efforts were raising for Comic Relief.

Edith had won universal acclaim throughout the show for her superb singing and all round performances with the judges often unanimous in their praise for her efforts.

Sometimes overcome by how valuable her efforts were for Comic Relief, the radio 1 DJ was always the consummate professional on stage.

For giving us 10 days of wonderful tunes, Edith, we salute you and Congratulations!

An amazing 8.25 million votes were received during the series, raising a whopping 1.3 million for Comic Relief.

She has a fairly good voice. Not good enough to become a recording artist, people should stick to what they know and for her it's presenting.
