TiBB Site :: Now Online

First of all, sorry for the delay on the site... things took James and I a lot longer to get sorted than we had imagined... mainly the news section.

We've put the homepage online now, and hopefully you like it. Everything is nearly functional, there are still some pages to be added and some links to be fixing - but don't worry we know about these :thumbs:

The main structure is up though, so enjoy... We will be adding new stuff in the next few days, as well as instructions on how the new news system works, and how you can contribute to it!

It's in no way the same, obviously the colour has changed, to fit the theme. The old side wasn't as stretched as this.

The old site didn't have the shoutbox, the old site didn't have the menu options at the top. The old site didn't have much space for 'Latest Celebrity BB Forum' or 'Other Big Brother' and the old site didn't have the Housemates pictures on there as clear as they are now. So, no it isn't exactly the same and to top it off the old site didn't have the little articles underneath the most recent posted article.

The old site didn't have the 2000+ lines of new code to get this new News feature working either :)

yeah it looks the same... sorry. All those new extra boxes and extra code modules that were plugged in ( don't tell me you wrote 2000 lines of code Mark) and new screen widths don't change the "look" of the site.
I'm a web designer by trade ... I'm half thinking I'll break open photoshop and show you what it ought to look like.

To tell the truth I rarely look at the main site, I just come straight to the forum.

I read through the history of TiBB and there is one bit Mark left out, possibly because it involved another forum.


Round about the begining of TIBB and the forum there were a number of us posters on a forum called Talk Big Brother.

The owner of that forum however started putting on his personal site, accessed from the forum, to websites that had material of an adult nature.

Now children, or at least those under 16 were using the site so, I believe it was LEE who got in touch with a bunch of us and revealed that they were unhappy at what the owner of Talk Big Brother had done, and so we all moved across to this new family friendly forum called This Is Big Brother dot com

And the rest is history...

new style? .. anyway yeah ...I freelance for $70 an hour ... I don't need to boost my tibb karma points that much hehe. Tell you what, I'll create a mockup in photoshop of what I'd like tibb to look like if you change your avatar to a picture your face covered in a McDonalds strawberry thick shake. In fact make it an avi and get one of the kids in the graphics threads to convert it to a gif for you. Then I'm in....c'mon on andy sweeten the deal.... your humiliation will be payment enough.

It looks excellent! Really impressed with it, and a massive improvement from before. Certainly better than a lot of other BB/reality tv websites, too.

Could you post details of what operating system and browser you are using?

I'm having the same problem and it seems to be browser related, so all the Mac users can forget about using Safari 3.21 as far as the front page goes at the moment and will have to use Firefox 3 instead.

I only just noticed it too, so thanks for pointing it out. :thumbs:

I just checked the front page with Safari for Windows and that has the same problem. The menu at the top appear to load but then fail to work.

Good news is if it's problem with both versions of Safari it will be easier to sort out, since Mark and James will be able to test out solutions on their Windows machines.

- The screen is stretched for my screen, can it fit in one anyhow?
- The news feature is a little bit higgledy piggledy, they dont seem to be in any order? (The smaller articles)
- The stars make the whole thing look abit tacky, I think it would be best without stars.
