No secrets from boyfriend for Big Brother's Michelle
Celebrity Big Brother star Michelle Heaton revealed all the secrets of her past love life to her handsome Irish boyfriend before going in to the famous house.
The former Liberty-X singer chatted openly to advertising executive Hugh Hanley about her personal history to avoid any undisclosed "skeletons" popping up in tabloids at a later date.
Friends close to the couple say the 'love triangle' storyline now playing on Big Brother will fail to rattle their close bond.
Since the brunette beauty, who now lives with hunky Hanley in Knocklyon, Dublin, entered the house 16 days ago, a so-called love-triangle involving Michelle, fellow housemate Ben Adams and the Dubliner has gripped viewers.
The controversy began when fellow housemate Coolio taunted Heaton about flirting with Adams (27) causing the Liberty-X singer to break down in floods of tears.
Since then, ongoing jibes about the pair supposedly 'flirting' and spin-off tabloid stories about Michelle's previous relationships, have unwittingly catapulted her boyfriend into the limelight.
Sources close to the couple say Hanley is "just a quiet, down-to-earth guy" who stays away from alcohol, is passionate about his fitness and would find the recent media attention "an absolute nightmare".
"It was quite difficult for him at the start to deal with Michelle's high profile but since then the two have grown really close," a source said.
Another friend described 30-year-old Hanley as being a "really good influence" on the reformed party girl saying: "She doesn't touch alcohol now, and they spend hours at the gym."
However, those close to the couple believe Michelle would have had no idea of the controversy her Big Brother appearance would cause -- and may have been naive about the extent to which the producers could manipulate the show for their own ends.
Before the series kicked off, Channel 4 bosses claimed they were hoping for a fun sixth series, with a romance that would captivate the public.
Producers were said to be desperate for the programme to return to previous rating highs.
This year Big Brother bosses brought in a fur-lined snug, comfortable double beds and a luxury bath to get celebrities in a playful mood.
As a programme source is said to have told newspapers before the launch night: "The snug is designed for flirting. It's fitted with romantic lights and strewn with sensual throws and cushions. A love triangle would be ideal."
Michelle's friends say the usually bubbly celebrity, who shot to fame on this side of the pond following a stint as a judge on RTE's You're A Star, was terrified entering the house that she would be misperceived by the public-and that her biggest fear was the thought of losing Hugh.
