I think just one year, or two years would revitalise it.
I have to admit, its got old now, and its not longer "Ooh it back!' its 'Oh, thats back again.' for most people.

I don't want to see it have a break  but if it has to 2or 3 years so it could be welcomed back
It definitely needs a break its been on too long. If I had my way it wouldn't be back until summer 2010.
It could go 1 of 2 ways- people care about the show again and interest is rejunviated, or people couldn't care less even more and it dies an even slower death

I think the CBB version should be axed so BB's less in your face all the time.

Yeah, excellent point there Markus, having no CBB would build up more anticipation for the summer series. I also think that 2 months is enough for the main series (this would bring the overall BB time in a year down from 4 months to 2 months).
In answer to the thread I think a 10 year break would be good because almost nobody would remember BB and it could have a completely different and refreshed format so that it could run on for another couple of years.

Its under contract for another year so whether or not its a celebrity series there will be one next January. Lets hope they shunt it back to E4 where noone cares about it.
If the figures keep dropping but they want to keep the show then they'd benefit from cutting back on the summer series, maybe back to 9 or 10 weeks. 13 weeks is waaaay too long
The reality TV bubble is going to burst soon anyway

Thanks darky!
Oh yeah, it's under contract. It's really no wonder the ratings have dropped. Despite the show being like 10 years old now, C4 are really playing it safe and are too scared of controversy so they're holding back on things (which is what always made Big Brother a hot topic of debate). Now they just churn out the same stuff each series and it is boring now.
I think it needs a 5 year break and then to come back completely transformed with loads of promotion and publicity.
comming back with a bang in Summer 2010 would be PERFECT.

Heres my plan what it should do after bb11 or 12 it should stop 2 years mabe 3 years later should come back with a bang for another 3 or 4 series's;so then i would be old enough, then should leave it there as much as i would miss bb that would be perfect
PS: I love CBB and you continue PLUS SUMMER BB SHOULD last 3 mouths that the best thing about it the only bad thing about it it's probley only me but i get really upset when it's all finshed a week later i start missing Rex, Darnell ETC ETC LOL Ill shut up now

I went for two years.
I think the best plan would be to have BB10 this summer. With Celeb BB almost certainly axed I'd replace it with a BB All Stars series to mark ten years, but push it back to May rather than Jan, running it about 6 weeks.
BB11 would then be held back until 2011 at the earliest, though if they were to hold it back any more it would have to wait until 2013 because there is no point airing it during the London Olympics.
4 months like every year

In 2010 they should have No CBB for Winter and no BB for Summer.
But on C4 or E4 they should have Big Brother USA for the Summer.
So then BBUK has a break and then for 2011 it will be Fresh.

It might not be a bad idea now to drop it this summer and then bring it back around October/November, running through to next January.
Perhaps have a short All Stars season in May just to fill the gap a bit and close the chapter on this era and then move on later in the year with a whole new format.
