Is it only me, but why does CBB have so many of them??? Why cant we mix it up a bit with celebs from other countries or even more UK celebs.

Or is it that there is a 'need' for the bizarre, loudmouthed, 'got to win at all costs' attitude to bolster the ratings?

Name some French or Sweedish or Italian celebs that are known in the UK?

Not many are there?

Thats why

The US celebs are bigger than the Uk celebs too

Spike

because they are usually good entertainment and we can get bigger US celebs than UK ones because they don't know about the show
All 3 Americans this series are much more famous than the British celebs and probably more entertaining than most.

Diversity. Usually the Americans are quite well-liked if I might say so myself. In CBB5 the Top 3 weren't British.

It's pretty much about who they can get, who would be liked, and who would be interesting. Verne, Coolio, and Latoya have all provided us with some entertainment this series, Dirk and Jermaine placed 3rd and 2nd in 2007, Traci is still a CBB favorite of many, and Brigitte/Caprice did well in their season.

Plus, the United States is one of the biggest sources of output from the entertainment industry, so there's bound to be some Americans. India, who has Bollywood which produces more films than Hollywood a year, has had Shilpa but I'm not sure how many Indians would want to go on Celebrity Big Brother after what happened.

Jackie Stallone was indeed very classy...... NOT

Sorry cant agree with you. of this years 3 none of them have any class or grace just an overbearing will to win... and in the case of Coolio...at all costs.

Yeah but as far as I'm concerned if BB:UK has American housemates, why don't they return the favour?

I'd prefer lesser UK celebs who actually know the show and the format rather than American's coming over for the pay cheque.

However, this time around the American's have proved their worth I think, unlike CBB5 when Dirk and Jermaine did **** all, and even the excellent CBB4 where Dennis Rodman and Traci "who the **** are you?" Bingham were little more than extras.

Because American celebs are known in the UK.

When has celebrity BB ever had actual celebs anyway?

But these American 'celebs' are way way way past their sell-by date. As for them being better value, I thought Tracy Bingham offered way more than La Toya false-face. She mixed with the others, was slaughtered by mad-man Burns but came back smiling, and didn't have seperate living quarters to hide/scheme in. And she was sexier.

The UK "celebs" are expired. What's the difference?

I had never heard of Coolio or Verne before now.
I was very familiar with Terry and Tommy and their backstories.
Why are there so few ex-sports stars?
And, yes, other nationalities please. Our media is too dominated by the USA imperial culture.

robb

Too many Americans this year......it's allowed them to form a clique along with 'only men aloud' in the house, so that we are left with Ulrika as the only real female left.
Traci Bingham was ok, especially how well she dealt with mad man Burns. But the the other Yanks can Go Home. Though in some ways, Verne winning will just about sum up this year's show.
