I had my debit card details stolen from off the internet a few weeks ago. I found out like a week after christmas that someone in Cyprus was using my account to buy stuff online and i was like OMG WTF!!!

I'm so careful though i dont know how they managed to get my bank details. My bank was pretty good about it though they refunded all the money they had stolen but thats not the point. They should have better security to protect people from stuff like that.

Has this happend to anyone else. i was lucky the only took £100 before i noticed what they were doing.

Something similar happened to me in 1999 / 2000

We suspect that it was probably spyware planted on your computer from somewhere which harvested your details when you went online.

You need to do a thorough deep clean of your computer system looking for spyware and make sure you have a decent firewall to prevent further attacks

Looks like you will have to whistle for it

Carphone Warehouse are not liable for what third parties may or may not have done

Contact you back to close the account and write off the cost, sorry but that is the way it goes and who said life had to be fair

great advice!! also...and not directed at anyone...
don't use your credit card when buying hardcore Danish XXX porn online!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you do just tell your girlfriend that it was "probably spyware planted on your computer from somewhere which harvested your details when you went online" or less creatively " umm the Carphone Warehouse stole my details!!"
