Please xplain how it is a fix?!!?
Verne winning would have been a fix
You are labouring under that misconception that this is a show to find the best entertainer. It isn't.
Big Brother is a popularity contest, and being liked the best is about more than just what entertainment you bring.
Ulrika was a brilliant housemate
It happens every series dont worry!

Win or no win, he lasted until the end. I thought he would be out way before the final because of how many disliked him, so I was happy to see him get to the final.
And I always knew that Coolio and Terry's vote would be split, so one would finish third if they reached the final, I just thought the other would win.
Ulrika deserved to win purely on the grounds that she used to present the best ever show (Gladiators)

I'm not outraged. As I've said in another thread I think Ulrika was a worthy winner. But I do think it is a bit fishy. The bookies are right 99% of the time and most had her around 14/1 just this morning. Also, I didn't know anyone who was voting for her (in real life, I knew a few who were on the 'net). And I'm not saying that's representative of the entire country but I thought that if she did win it would be very close. And 57% seems like a huge margin to me. Still, what does Channel 4 have to gain by fixing the competition in Ulrika's favour? I don't really see a motive for that.

If the bookies always get it right, then why have they not got Big Brother right since Shilpa won?

It actually makes a lot of sense to me the top-two being Terry and Ulrika. There hasn't been an obvious winner all series in terms of how the housemates came across in the house. And controversial housemates that arguably make the show more interesting to watch never come better than about third.

I guess it's a symptom of our low expectations from the 'percieved' voting public. With hindsight, tonights result isn't a surprise, it's just that the voting demographic has changed but the mob at the evictions stays the same.
BB might be a 'popularity contest' but in reality it's a pity contest, and always has been and from that you can tell alot about who's been voting.
The moral of the story is:
Don't be (or be associated with) a sexist on TV when there's an empowered and anonymous female voting demographic who can be just as sexist back, even if their only choice was 4x4!
Im not outraged, and it isn't a fix. I'm just dissapointed that the best contestant didn't win.

There's only been 3 Big Brothers since Shilpa won. And anyway, I didn't literally mean they get it right 99% of the time. What I meant to say was that the bookies are right on MOST things, not just Big Brother. I'm quite sure Rachel wasn't anywhere near 14/1 on the final day last year but whatever. I already said I didn't think it was a fix. I just think the margin she won by is a bit fishy.

Entertainment does not equal popularity. A lot of people vote for people they like as people, not the entertainment. No harm in that IMO. Coolio without a doubt was the most entertaining, but I prefered Ulrika and La Toya as people in this years show and would rather either of them had won.

How much money would the bookies lose with Verne winning?
How much money would the bookies lose with Ulrika winning?
Also BB came out of this smelling of roses.... Of course they had to.
:nono: No justice.

Actually I was rooting for Terry who has spouted all kinds of facts, wisdom and rubbish but committed fully to the spirit of the SHOW!
But yes Coolio created the most LOL and cringe moments on the highlights, but you probably wouldn't want to live with the guy! I don't doubt your reasons for liking Ulrika and Latoya but they're rooted in fantasy.

Protest vote against a male winning?
Protest vote against Coolio or Verne winning?
This will happen again.

If this was fix, those that "knew" would have been backing Ulrika at any price. She was double-figure odds before tonight's show, and she wasn't even backed in to favourite whne it was down to just two.
If it was a fix, no-one profited from this, and C4 certainly didn't gain anything from it.
Think again.

Lol! The Bookies have made money with Ulrika winning!
Think again! :nono:
The bookies nightmare would have been Verne winning.
Plus BB has had the "sexism/bullying" thing over its head... Hence a female winner.

OK - the bookies would have lost big if Verne had won. That's what they want you to believe. You think they don't hedge their liabilities? Are you seriously suggesting that bookmakers have fixed the result, with all the potential that has if they get found out? Madness.

If the HM is a fan favorite and they win, it was a fix because BB wanted them to win the whole time.
If the HM wasn't a fan favorite, it was a fix because there's no way they could get the votes.
Basically, people who say it's fixed are saying "I don't like who won". They should just say this instead. For example, I don't like who won.

CBB6 got into the same mess as with CBB5.. "sexism/bullying" BS and BB are already walking on eggshells with the Vile Ofcom down their necks!
It had to go one way for BB to end the show as the good guys... Result is that Ulrika wins.
Plus many wanted a female winner! The vile wench won but not a true worthy winner, just another Shilpa final outcome to please Ofcom and rest of that bandwagon.

Had to be a female winner!
She won, well done Ofcom.
