What making me angry more than anything about people complaining about Ulrika is that theyre shocked 'a woman' has won!

Its as if they almost expect a man to win. No one ever mentioned Pete or Brian or Craig being men when they won. You never heard 'I cant believe a man won Big Brother'

Its ridiculous.

Also WHAT would Channel4 gain from 'fixing' this? absolutley nothing apart from pissing off viewers.

Fact is Verne and Terry and Coolio fans were so convinced that they didnt need to vote that Ulrika screeched through to victory because her fans actually bothered to vote.

Well it wasnt a fix. I voted for Ulrika 3 times and had to try over 5 times because it was busy.

The reason Ulrika won is because she got the most votes. Imagine that.

It wasn't a fix. Ulrika won fair and square!!

Or it's because the Ulrika voters wanted a female to win and not a male... :flowers:

Sexism works both ways.
People have wrote that they are happy a woman won, "yes she beat the males!"...

If anything it was another joke final like when Shilpa won! Nasty.

I think the reason people were surprised is given in the polls on this site (and others).
Ulrika was very high in the "person I most dislike" which meant there was a lot of critical comment about her on boards, in the press and elsewhere.
She was also high in the "favourite to win" polls and so received a lot of votes.
To put it simply, Ulrika really divided opinion and there were few neutrals.
