sorry for potentially sounding dumb i currently have a mp3 player but got money for my birthday and am thinking a ipod was looking at the touch is there any hidden charges on it for example when using the net on it? or would i be better just going for one of the new pink ones?
i'm guessing they connect with a usb lead to computer?
how do you put music on is it only by itunes or can you download from cds as well?

1. No idea about the touch but I'd go for a normal one, but that's my preference.
2. Yep, USB included.
3. You need to download itunes to transfer the music over but you can rip your CDs using itunes, and then drag them to your ipod.

It is free, unlimited Internet.
Also, you can either purchase songs from iTunes, rip CDs onto it or just put illegally downloaded songs on there if you'd like.

And Happy Belated Birthday Michelle

No there's no hidden charges on a iPod Touch. I'd really reccomend it, it's great.

I find the Touch... brilliant.

I have actually had to force myself to use my laptop... I use the internet on the Touch far too much. I highly recommend it. :)

To save posting a new thread:

How can you set your iPod up so that you can plug it into another computer/laptop and add songs from another library without losing all the stuff you had on it already? Similarly, does anyone know how to (assuming the place where you stored your library has been wiped) transfer music from an iPod to a computer without the stored data and not lose it?

I know how to transfer songs from a iPod to a computer if your music has been lost on a PC.
Not so sure about the first question, I think you used to be able to do it just not anymore...

You need a Wi-Fi connection to connect to the internet on the iPod Touch, and if you want to update it with new software etc then it costs about £6 (but that's optional).

It's actually free if you own the second generation touch.

If you create a new playlist - whilst your iPod is plugged into the other PC - and then just drag the songs/albums from the other library into it, this usually works.
