I just dont get how two kids sitting there moving their eyebrows relates to chocolate what so ever.

all of their adverts make no sense to me what so ever. when i eat their chocolate im thinking mmmmmm chocolate, not this reminds me so much of the time i saw an ape playing the drums.

Nothing ever relates to Dairy Milk adverts - thats the beauty of them!

Drum playing gorillas
Trucks driving/dancing to Queen
Electro eyebrows by kids

GENIUS!

Really random, memorable adverts actually increase the sales of their chocolate bars. The randomness is what makes them so good.

The original pitch from the advertising agency Fallon London was to move away from traditional adverts and produce 'entertainment pieces'.

It's worked for them - in 2007, their sales rose 9% off the back of the Gorilla ad launch compared with the same period in 2006.

You clearly dont get advertising then, their goal isnt to make you want chocolate, its to make you think... 'What a stupid and weird advert by cadbury's' then you start talking to your mates about the brand, threads on websites like this get made. The name gets about, everyone is talking about the brand.

Genious, the advert has already done its job.

But that advert will stick out and thats the whole point. If it was just someone eating chocolate then it would merge into the rest of the adverts like people sitting on a sofa to advertise DFS you easily forget about.

The beauty of the trucks one was the coincidental timing with the issues at Terminal five at Heathrow

One wonders if the BA and BAA officials winced when they saw it. On the net there was a lot of comment about, "This is what has been happening to the lost luggage

it is quite possibly the most random bizarre thing i have ever seen on tv but i do like it although it has a almost hynoptic quality to it

as for the person who said it doesnt make you think of chocolate thats the point there is no real thing as bad advertising its stuck in peoples heads so the product is being talked about etc

I understand my fair share of marketing and advertising as i studied it at college. there are so many different types of advertising which doesnt appeal to everyone.

I understand how doing a bizzare advert will get everyone talking about it.

PERSONALLY to me it doesnt make me want their chocolate anymore than i usually do. but yeah it does get me talking about it but not to go out and buy it.

The kids get annoying, haha. But seriously, it's so random - the point is that it's random, which gets you thinking/talking about it.

And that ultimately makes you want the chocolate too! I do think it's a bit long, but it works.

Do any adverts make you want to go out and buy things though? I dont go to marks and spencers and buy things even if im going 'mmm' at the advert. Adverts arent really there to make you want to buy things, they are to tell you about the brand and keep it fresh in your head. If cadbury's stopped advertising, people would forget about the brand and not buy anything.

The idea is to keep the brand in everyones heads. Sub consciously it will make you buy their chocolate, and percentages show that they work.
