I was just thinking about songs that you really like that have been ruined for your for any reason.

Like the other day i was sitting in the car and the James Blunt - Goodbye my lover came on the radio. i use to really like that song until my friend died, it was played at her funeral and now i cant listen to it because now everytime i hear it it makes me upset.

And other songs like this one by Celine Dion was me and my ex bf's 'song' but now thats ruined because we are no longer together and that just upsets me.

And now Alex Burke Hallelujah is ruined for me because that reminds me of somwhere i dont want to think about.

Does any else have songs they cant listen to cos it brings up bad memories and stuff.

Just a thought

You ca flip that, if you think of it, as the wake up call song. AS in, if you didnt find out, it wouldve been a mistake. So thank god, the wedding didnt happen. Now you can like it again!:spin2:

The Lighthouse Family's "High" was played at my cousin's funeral so I can't listen to that without feeling sad...though it is a sad song anyway.

Not really... I dont get that emotionally connected to songs. My friend cries everytime he hears 'Dont stop me now' by queen, and being heartless... I really hate it. Because its my sing song at parties, so i will be enjoying myself singing really badly all drunk, then he goes on his tantrum causing a scene. Can't help but think its put on, if it was that bad you would quietly walk off and cry then come back.

I associate songs with "moments" as well, so there are a LOT of songs which are completely ruined for me.

However, there are also a lot of songs which bring up good memories too, so there's a balance.

Come Dance With Me, My crush was telling me to come dance with him when he was drunk but he was only saying that because he feels sorry for me, i don't know that for sure but it's quite obvious TBH.

Hallelujah... for the obvious reason.

I can't listen to "Blowin' In The Wind" by Bob Dylan, my sister introduced me to Bob Dylan. I like to see it as a safety blanket.. :)
