Hello, and welcome to the first ever live show that TiBB has to offer, this show is called VISUAL IDOL. Well basically, anyone who can make graphics, photo's and draw art is taking part. Its like a visual version of The X Factor. Where there will be a live show twice a week. (Every Monday and Friday) Where they will make a graphic/draw art or take a photo based on a certain theme. There will be a different theme for every live show. During these live shows, the contestants pieces of work will be shown, and the judges will comment on it, and then at the end of the show, the members vote to save, and the two or more members with the least amount of votes will be in the, VISUAL IDOL SHOWDOWN and the judges decide who stays and who goes out of the bottom acts. In the event of a tie, the public votes will decide who stays and who goes.

This is really cool, I love the use of the pink with the yellow, the pixelled effect gives it another edge, the yellow circles against the pink work really nicely too. Only criticism would be the font, I don't think its as on par as the rest of it. I really like the general distortion of it all though which brings out character.

Overall, a fantastic piece which makes me want to see more work from you. Very impressed.

Nice picture Sam. I like the appealing colours, very bright and 'in your face' in a good way, it makes people look. I like the pixelated theme around the sides aswell, along with the circles. Nice picture of yourself, not taking much of the picture up. I spy Jessica Simpson and she always makes a picture look better.

Only minus would probably be the 'SAM!' which looks a bit tacky in the red colour, it could of been better if it was just toned down a little. Also, on the theme.. does it really represent you? A picture of Jessica Simpson and a pink background? ...I'm not sure.

Good go though, you're obviously very talented in Photoshop =]

”My graphic is a combination of all different things that I associate with myself. I decided to start off with the basic idea of a film, and then add various things in the spaces. In my graphic, I have a picture of me and my best friend, who means the world to me. I have pictures of Sky, Tay and Tasha, who are the most important thing I own, and pictures of my favourite bands and singers, obviously McFly, Matt Willis and Hilary Duff. There is a small picture of me and some of my other friends, the place I live and my favourite Big Brother contestant, Glyn Wise. Lastly, I added some of my art into my graphic, as that is something I associate with myself. I then added all effects and different textures to see what looked best.”

Really smart idea and comes across really well as you have alot of your interests in there.

The shape and the choice of using film adds character to it too. It could give the connotation that there is a story behind your life, scene after scene kindof thing.

The only criticism I have is maybe using more film perhaps intertwining, but you obviously put a good amount of effort into this and it represents you as an artist and as a person really nicely. Well done.

Now Nicky, this is fab, and really really represents the theme 'You' in a brilliant way. You've added the closest things to you, and that is all the theme asked for.

On the actual style, I love the film strip idea, very eye catching, and it kind of makes me think as if these are all little photos and are sentimental to you. I love the fact you've kept the pictures coloured, as you could have opted for them to be in black and white as the film strip is.

Overall, really really good effort, represents the theme well and you've obviously got talents along with Scampi.

Lovely sentimental picture once again. You've read the theme and stuck to it.

The picture itself isn't the best and I'm sure if Kate see's the others she will agree. I don't mean to be harsh, as Kate is a good mate of mine, however there could be the slight touch ups such as colour changes and more focus which could have made this picture that slight bit better.

I'd have to say theres little imagination in the whole thing, however Kate has opted for that generic theme of just going straight for a camera shot which is fine, well done.

Creativly, it's good, but skills wise it isn't brilliant. I like the choice of light colours, but perhaps making it black and purple could give the connotation of mystery? Like you don't know where the door will lead you.

I hope that your skills get better because you do have some good ideas here.

You said before that you used paint, maybe getting a better Graphics program could put your ideas to good use.

The idea is wonderful, the theme of 'You' is SORT of there, clutching at straws. However it would of looked better if that writing was actually typed with a nice typeface and not with paint, as it seems a little illegiable. The colours are a little washed out too, I can't help thinking some more eyecatching ones could of been more useful for this picture.

Overall I'd say you had a great idea, but trying to make it come all together was a bit more tricky, however, I wouldn't say its bad, it just maybe needs some work. Very good try though and you can see you've put the effort in.

Sam: Hmm, I like it because I can see the real "you" but the pixelisation ruins it a bit for me. I think it's generally quite good though :) The colours were what made it for me!

Nicky - yours was amazing, i could have just told it was "you" from the pictures!

Kate - nice pic but no creativity :(. Even just a few extra pictures added or a bit of drawing would have made it a bit better!

Hahaha, nice. I really like the shaping that you did with the picture of you, but in general its a bit basic.

As the topic of your artwork is Fom, perhaps you could show more about Fom (in a non-sexual way) more colour and interest to the piece?

Hannah, theres obviously that type of funny edge to it, which I like.

The colours are a bit drab though, the whole thing would of looked a bit better with some rainbow type colours, to actually represent that 'warm' feeling when you're in love?! lol...I just think the white is a bit boring.

Overall, Its a nice picture, you sort of had an idea and its panned out well. I just think the colour of white has drowned the whole thing out a little. It looks a little 'Pushing Daisies' esque too.

As for the theme of 'You', its portrayed well. As with another couple of contestants, you've went for that style of just grabbing the things you love must and made a picture with them.

The picture itself is a little dark, it could of been brightened up on some computer program. I can't help thinkin' a few stars or musical notes etc could of made this picture be a bit more lively.

Kat, nice style you've got going on. I like the idea of your picture, the night sky looks very calming as you said you are.

However, slight things like cutting your nose off and some kinda bad cutouts of things you like shows that you're not that experienced in Photoshop, however you did try, so you have to be commended for that.

Very minimal, but effective, I like it very much. I like the fact that you have your hand over your mouth. The black and white also makes it seem less vibrant, which is what you're going for. The fringe covering your eye and the fact your wearing black also adds to the shy effect.

As I said at the beginning, quite minimal, but looking past that, quite an effective piece with many connotations. Very nice.

Nice style Christina. You've represented the theme quite well, I suppose you've picked the overall personality that sums you up.

The picture itself is much like your others, but it does have that creative imagination in it, which pays off. The idea of the hand over your face really does make the picture more attention grabbing. I also like the fact you turned it to black and white, once again taking any personality/emotion out of the picture, which sort of applies to your personality of shyness.

Overall, good try, maybe add a few computer shapes next time, depending on the theme.

Hmm, I like the metaphorical idea, and the black white contrast but it hasn't got that "Zing" for me. I suppose it's because I see you as a colourful person, but that was explained in the description. Well done, though!

The picture itself isn't the best and I'm sure if Kate see's the others she will agree. I don't mean to be harsh, as Kate is a good mate of mine, however there could be the slight touch ups such as colour changes and more focus which could have made this picture that slight bit better.

I'd have to say theres little imagination in the whole thing, however Kate has opted for that generic theme of just going straight for a camera shot which is fine, well done.

Sorry. I'm really really confused. Conor told me that you didn't have to be even slightly into graphics to do this? That you could just take pictures or draw? If I even knew what "toning to the sepia" was.. i would have done it :tongue:
