I am on a Windows XP Media Edititon.

I have TONNES and TONNES of free space, but I want to know how I can make it load stuff faster.

Also, how can I stop so many programmes opening and startup - E.G - New USB Device, Realtec HD Audio etc?

Thanks,

Magic

Start > Run > MSCONFIG > Start up (in the tab). Hope that helps.

Apparently having more erm....'RAM' helps...dunno what it is though

Try defragging the disc

You could also try deleting all of the programs and files that you no longer need.

There is not much you can do! Your computer is as fast as your microprocessor. But you seem to have a lot of space. MAKE SURE your startup is empty, then it will probably be a bit faster but not much

Also try clearing your internet cache before the defrag

Adding more memory to your computer usually helps, especially if you are running a lot of prgrams at once. And running the defragmenter a few times.

sounds like you need a memory upgrade, buy some RAM and google how to do.
