Hello, and welcome to the second live show that TiBB has to offer, this show is called VISUAL IDOL. As most of you well know, earlier this week, we said goodbye to CONOR, in our first elimination of the series. Tonight its just the same as the contestants pieces of work will be shown and the members vote to save, and the two or more members with the least amount of votes will be in the, VISUAL IDOL SHOWDOWN and the judges decide who stays and who goes out of the bottom acts. In the event of a tie, the public votes will decide who stays and who goes.

Tonights theme is Obsession.
The contestants took this word, and do whatever they wanted with it. As long as its not pornographic, or sexually, or racially or all the other offensive words. LOL.

Better than last week, but not quite there. I think that obsession has a deeper meaning usually, but thats personal opinion. I don't see how you on the mountainside and potatoes make a connection, it's like two seperate art pieces.

I like the swirling and shaping of the mountainside, maybe you could have made more of that, but generally it strikes me as "What has potatoes got to do with the mountainside?"

I can see now that as an artist, you're quite light hearted which is a good thing, but I think that you needed to focus on one area of obsession here.

Hmm, Kate. It's interesting...but I don't think it works. One positive is that you've actually done your picture using computer equipment this week, which is a change from last week.

However, I don't think it works. The idea of your obsession is okay, but its the way you've presented it which looks a bit boring, squashed pictures, a messy font. The pictures kind of ruined with the added swirls aswell. Obviously you've tried, and welldone for that, but I don't think it works.

Hannah! I love the thought behind this picture, I seriously love the whole idea. Its a simple picture, so simple with little adjustments, but the actual idea you've portrayed shows obsession in such a good way. There's a lot of people who will be in this situation, obsessing over their weight, and I just think a simple picture like this speaks volumes.

I've actually got no negatives towards this, its simple but so effective. I also have to mention that you've changed your style this week, using a camera. Last week you used a computer to create your image. It's good to see our first two contestants using different equipment to show off their varied skills.

Very good idea, loved how you put together images and how you didn't just go with what you are obsessed with, but obsession in society.

I think that you could of had more shocking images maybe, perhaps more torn up in a scrapbook style. I don't feel that the writing is needed either, I think a picture should convery meaning without words.

Overall, I find this piece has great potential and has thought put into it, you could be the dark horse Christina!

Christina, I love this too. Its amazing!! Seriously, you've obviously added computer effects which is good, and once again a change from last week.

The same thought is there as Hannah's, with the main focus being on girls weight issues. What you've created is a big imagine which just shows that people should be themselves and you've had a great idea and portrayed it so well. The writing in the middle is attention grabbing and you've done amazingly well on this theme.

I also love the tweaks you've made using the computer, shows you have computer skills. Welldone.

My graphic shows an obession as it contains Eva Longoria. In my opinion she is one of the hottest women around, and on top of that shes a great actress in one of my favourite shows, Desperate Housewives. I also make many of my graphics on the subject of Eva. And so to me, she is an obsession

I like the right hand side pictures as I feel that has more of an obsession feel. Its a brilliantly made banner (LOVE the numbers thing on Evas dress), I just needed to see more of the theme here. Maybe more pictures of her would have helped.

Very nice Sam, obviously it doesn't have the hard hitting obsession theme like the other two, but that doesn't matter. The fact is you've created a stunning entry and you've shown you have great ability on the computer.

One thing I would say is that a better font may have made it look better, and I'm also a bit unsure as to whether its too simple. I feel a more sexy colour like red could of been added somewhere.

Also, I'd like to see you use a camera or something next week, you've used computer equipment for the two entries so far, so it would be nice to see what else you can do.

An interesting entry Loukas. I don't quite know what to make of it. Yes, its an obsession so you've ticked the box on that, because he is an obsession of yours.

As for the actual entry though, I'm not sure. I think it could of been portrayed in such a better way, like James said last week with the use of Photoshop etc. You've obviously used Paint for this and I dont know whether pasting lots of heads can be classed as some sort of artistic creation.

Shame you didn't get the Photoshop, could be better. Nice try.

Unrequited love sucks, I know, but I think that more of that emotion needs to be put into this piece, using colours, shapes and textures that can represent your obsession.

I think that instead of copying and pasting his face everywhere, perhaps you could have taken parts of his face and put them across the image, that would add more interest in my opinion.

A bit of a step down from last week in my opinion (you did NOT deserve to be in the bottom last week) and I feel that although you love him, you need to remember this is art too, put your full artistic expressions into it.

” When I think of the word ‘obsession’, one thing springs to mind. McFly. I love their music; they’re genuine guys and are loyal to their fans. In my graphic, I included all different pictures of the lads doing various things and blended them all together. I added colour to a drawing I drew, and added this into the middle. For effect, I faded a picture in the background, added colour effects and added some fancy patterns. Lastly, I added song lyrics and their names in a nice small font across to small banners.”

Woah now. This is amazing. Where to start?

I love the fact that you've done drawing and put them in the centre. I love how you coloured it too. I also love the details on the side of the image creating a beautiful effect. Also, the faded picture of McFly in the background works beautifully. Love the colouring too.

Some of the pictures are cute, but some are a bit less sweet (Danny licking towards muscle, Harry setting fire to pubic hair) but otherwise, sweet and well put together images.

Truely a beautiful piece, well done Nicky!

Very nice Nicky. I love the idea you've portrayed of obsession. Not the most serious, but still its a really nice entry.

Lovely use of colours and images, I like the handwritten styled font used in the middle also. I also like the vectors, I think they're called that. I like the way you've not kept it so boring in terms of colour, you could of easily left it as the main white imagine the middle but you've added the coloured photo's at the bottom which makes the whole thing look a lot nicer.

As I said to Sam I'd love to see you use different equipment rather than a computer for next week. Very good though.

Cute, love the colouring that you added to it. Lover the pixelly yellow background on the right.

As the theme of obsession goes, I think you're going by media obsession, but I'm not quite sure. Now that I've read your lines though it makes complete sense. I love the picture in the top centre, that really adds to the piece.

Also, get better quality pictures, it would really pull it off better, but overall a really sweet composition with potential.

The actual idea is well thought out, its convincing aswell. Obviously you're a person obsessed with 'Celebrity'.

LOL interesting idea. I love how you've avoided blending by creating boarders. The bright colours give a fun aspect to the piece and suggest that this isn't based on serious spying like stalking which I like. I don't really see the point in the clear obsession title though as we know what the theme is. It could have been replaced by something like "I spy..." or something. Overall a good piece :)

I don't really think contestants should have to do different types of art if their style is with a particular type. It's not fair to make someone who's good at photography have to make a good photoshop banner if they aren't comfortable with it. I say stick with what you're good at and create your own style rather than do bits of everything.

Honestly, I disagree with the whole use of different mediums thing, I don't completley think its about the skills in this competition, but also about the creativty and passion put into it.

In my application I had back, it said I was doing graphics.. not art/photography? Which I'm not very good at :3

Hey sorry I've been away for a bit, and although there was a stand-in judge, here's all my comments as per. :)

Kate:Better than last weekk, you're starting to get the whole graphiksy stuff (yes i know that isn't a word, but it looks cooler OKAY!?)

Christina: Ditto. V impressed, so deep and looks so wonderful :) you really thought about the idea - it's very effective

Scampi: Very good editing skills, but as you said - it has no story! I don't really capture "obsession" just a pretty graphic. Though, tbh, it's one of your best blends so far, and still very good :)

Ninastar: I see this was in the style of those satirical popular cartoons, but it doesn't work at the moment. It's too similar to last time, which isn't that impressive, sozzza.

Loukas: you really did capture "obsession"! don't worry about photo editing skillz. Even the most talented graphic artist can't use paint - and you can! embrace the paintness, because you can do quite a lot on it :)

Nicky: Although like Scampis, you portrayed a celebrity, it works better in this case because of how you related it to the theme. I love the use of graphics and drawing at the same time, very well blended and very well done! :D

Kornetto: Haha! I love it, it's so original yet again. it doesn't matter that the graphics are 100% amazing because the idea is so good. Well done.
