This year, instead of dancing reindeer I have used a photograph I took on 35mm film of a lone tree in Kielder Forest in Northumberland.

The beauty of this one is you can print it out on card and make a real card

Poor little tree Sticks. I feel quite sorry for it.

I was told by a tree expert that it is probably 12 years old

Thanks Sticks, though I think that poor little tree needs a great deal of TLC

I spoke to our resident tree expert at works (He did / does TPO's)

The tree is a sycamore tree

In it's location it is away from other trees and so is not competing for light or nutrients.

It's main threat would come from deer nibbling at it, and possibe water run off, however there already is a tributary further down stream, image attached, making this unlikely. Although it looks fragile it seems in an ideal location.

Incidentaly I was staying at the Calvert Trust (http://www.calvert-trust.org.uk/kielder/)

Sorry about the bump, but the original card in 2004 vanished sometime ago

Incidentally by 2005, the tree had been felled :bawling:
