Comments anyone?
We never did sex ed apart from one lesson where we watched some 65 year old fat balding female teacher with a beard put an out of date condom on a gluestick ... and by then it was like already done it, no need to learn how
Locke.

I used to hate it. Didn't teach us about anything to do with sex either, just about 'wet dreams' and that we should wear a condom.

No
they need to be more Graphic showing the problems.
Even if half the class are laughing
at least some will take it on board.
Putting on a Condom onto a Cucumber
get lots of laughs
but each pupil girl and boy must do it.
If a Pupil says there Parents will not allow this
send them out of class
that is their loss.
HIV AIDS
has risen in some parts of the UK.
New Labour is more into Iraq
they are not helping or Funding enough in Sex Education
And Nutter Ed Balls
is no good in charge.

No
but they need Garphic Photos and close ups of problems.
Of course some Older teachers
may not be up for this so bring in a Special Team
of a Man and a Woman
so they can talk to each one of each sex.
But New Labour need to Fund all this.

I don't think it is taught enough or well for young people to have a great knowledge about it
I do think it should be taught at a much younger age and should be treated more serious and less of a laugh or embarrassing issue by teachers

We have done a few lessons in PSHE and stuff like that,. but i think the whole sex course should be stronger... they dont say much apart from that you have to wear a condom to be safe and stuff like that.
edit- My pshe class never laughs at things like this, i guess we are more mature than others in my school

Agree with the condom on the cucumba thing, if they are so concerned about our safety while having sex they would do a lesson on how to put a condom on. Only 1 school in my town does that... all the otehrs including mine have never done that.

The school nurse came into our class a few weeks ago with a hard blue model penis. She then got someone to put a condom on it.

We never had a sex education, when I was in year 5 we were basically given a diagram of the womb and told that when we were teenagers we`d bleed once a month. That was literally it.
Then when I was in yr 7 or 8 we were told about periods yet again,no mention of sex.We were given free tampax and had to watch a video about a girl having her first period.
Then when I was in yr 10,by this time everyone had had sex anyway we were finally told that there were several forms of contraception and that If we were having sex we should always use protection.
Seriously that was the extent of it and I`m not that old ,I only left school 2 and a half years ago.I will admit when I first started having sex I was almost totally clueless about some aspects of sex and I really dont understand how schools get away with having so little sex education.

My 7 year old brother has just started it at school. Most of the parents are fuming because they are watching short animation films about it.
I think they are going too far now. (the school)

there isnt enough sex ed and what there is isnt adquete as the 13 yr new father shows its not a recent thing either so certainly not a sign of the times as one poster put it
when i was at school we had a very basic few sex ed lessons that were more about the changes body goes through and periods but by the time we had it most of us had periods and also lost virginity so what we was taught was pretty much worthless
there needs to be something starting from a younger age (obviously age apprioate) to stop more 12 yr olds going out having unprotected sex but it needs to not only be the schools responsibilty but parents as well i think parents need to stop treating it still as a taboo subject and actually tell their kids the facts i know that i shall be very open with my daughter about things like this so that she is aware and so on before it is to late

We're supposed to get RSE every year for two weeks during R.E, but 4th years don't get it and the stuff you do in juniors is just about feelings for others, hormones, personal hygeine and all that jazz.
