Some info on the upcoming straight to DVD sequel:

The director from the original, Mark Waters will return for the sequel but none of the original writers will.

It has instead been written by Leslie Dixon (who wrote the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday) and Gail Parent (who wrote Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen). Both movies starred Lindsay Lohan, who given the current state of her film career may be enticed to return given that she has worked with both before.

None of the original cast are likely to return.

They should never make sequels if there doesn't need to be one, they're always crap and never usually make much money (straight to DVD, usually).

The first Mean Girls was ridiculous though, but it isn't really my type of film so I didn't expect to like it.

1. they are not going to get a better cast than the original
2. this films just a classic having a second just ruins it

They will ruin it. I remember saying when it was rumoured that it was a bad idea and it really is. :bored:

Sequels always ruin films, the only exceptions there are that i can think of is The Godfather Part 2 and American Pie 2, those are the only 2 films that actually didnt ruin the first.

I know for a fact that a Mean Girls 2 will ruin the 1st.

I don't see how it will "ruin it". Yeah it will be ****, but that shouldn't effect the original. Look at Grease - it;s still widely loved and critically acclaimed and yes the sequel was **** but that makes no difference. Or even the the Disney movies like Cinderella 2. It was rubbish even to most kids, but they still love the first one.

straight to DVD films are mostly rubbish. Mean Girls doesnt even need a sequal as there was no cliffhanger ect. it will probaly be a whole rip with the same scholl ect.

but saing i kind of enjoyed the re-make of Freaky Friday:whistle:
