She's always behind the bar at The Vic and she has no major story lines but she's in nearly all the episodes haha. I love her :joker:

Isn't that the point of an extra.

No. An extra is someone who appears in 1 or 2 episodes. Tracey has been there ever since 1986.

That's a character who stars in 1 or 2 episodes. An extra is someone in the background who never speaks.
Example, someone walking down the street with a dog behind Gail in Corrie

Well she speaks so she's not an extra.

er... yes she is. She's just not been arsed to move onto another job so they give her the odd line every now and then.

Isnt the term extra another word for "background actor"?
If a so called extra speaks, then they are no longer in the background, ergo not a background actor

No, she's never in the background is she? She's always slap bang in the middle of the action. Serving drinks and saying 'thanks' to a customer every now and then, she's been a part of many major storylines.
