Hello, and welcome to the sixth live show that TiBB has to offer. This is also the semi-final. This show is called VISUAL IDOL. As most of you well know, earlier this week, we said goodbye to NINASTAR!, in our Fifth elimination of the series. Leaving it an all girl’s semi final. Tonight its just the same as the contestants pieces of work will be shown and the members vote to save, and the two or more members with the least amount of votes will be in the, VISUAL IDOL SHOWDOWN and the judges decide who stays and who goes out of the bottom acts. In the event of a tie, the public votes will decide who stays and who goes.

Tonights theme is Olden Times. and Modern times .

” Okay, this week I struggled with the theme. With this, I decided to keep it really simple. On the right, I put a picture of an old family, which has lots of children and have a traditional look. On the left, it has an old car, which is how they used to travel. In the background there is an old street, with a rail way which I added in the middle. In the tracks of the railway, are old games like 'Headache' and 'Tiddlywinks'. - I then added scratch textures, and an 'old' effect, to make it look old and worn.”

Lovely entry, I can't believe you thought this was bad. I love your abilities in Photoshop, really amazing. The style of the picture is really nice, the black and white obviously.

I think maybe you should have added some lines which could of made it look a bit more old, is there some kind of crease tool in Photoshop? Also, I'm not sure about the white border around the family, kind of ruins the other colours on the entry.

But really, its a lovely picture, really imaginative. Best of luck Nicky, you've been really good all the way through this competition.

Nice work, really homely and old fashioned picture. I like the editing you've made to it in Photoshop.

I have to say its not VERY imaginative, its good but I'm just not sure if its so good as you're other entries in the past.

Well, its an editing programme she uses. Sam you don't need to be so sarcastic about everything, Photoshop is an editing programme so Christina obviously uses the same type of thing however with a different name.

Lovely picture. Really bright and colourful, I love it. The buildings still look a bit retro and '70s though haha.

Nice blending, as I've said before. I like the pictures at the top.

I wouldn't change this at all, except maybe the 'Modern Times' at the bottom, I don't really think its needed.

Love the photography chosen and the toning of it, maybe more effects would have pulled this off better to make it look olden.
The family photo is a good idea, but it looks more modern with the way you have cropped it.
Overall, a really good start to the show, but honestly, I'm hoping your second is better.

I'm quite disapointed tbh, you've been my secret favourite and I don't really see olden times here. I think that Sepia rather than black & whtie would make it look older.

The photo's also really blurry and the general picture just looks quite modern, which is a shame.

I really hope your second one is better to be honest

My favourite so far, love the faded letter, really adds to the piece alot, you my dear have come an amazing way.

I have to say, as a negative, I don't get the sheep. maybe something more representing old etc. Love the choice of house there, very old and derelict

y favourite of the three so far though, well done.


Nicky Modern

I really like this, definate comparison with your other one. LOVE how the sky is made of modern things and I love the faded bright colours, works really well.

Generally, a really good piece, but it just needed that extra push in my opinion. Overall, great though.

Christina Modern

MUCH better than your other one, although the picture is quite low quality. This represent modern times really well, maybe doing something more with the contrast with the lights could have made this effective.

It's a bit safe however, but I like how the picture is almost shaped due to the lights used.

It does strike me as really modern because of the sky and the skyscrapers, really nice to see that you've edited the sky area aswell, to make it a little different.
