Welcome to the Duffy Thread :)

Duffy (born Amie Ann Duffy, 23 June 1984), is a Welsh singer-songwriter. Her debut album Rockferry was released in March 2008 and entered the UK Album Chart at number one. It was the best selling album in the United Kingdom in 2008 and has sold over 5.5 million copies worldwide. In 2009, she won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album for Rockferry, and she was nominated for two other Grammy awards. She also won three BRIT Awards, the UK's premier music honour. Duffy was the first Welsh female to achieve a number one pop single in twenty-five years with her second single "Mercy"

I don;t see why Duffy needs a thread. She;s not really well established enough. She only had two really big singles.

You could say that about anyone with a no.1 doesn;t always happen though. Plus she's almost done with her promotion for Rockferry and won't have a new album for at least a year. Plus awards season is over.

Threads imo should be reserved to people either have new material in the near future or well established artists (Christina, Britney, Kelly).

The reason that there shouldn't be a Duffy thread imo is that there will be no news to put in it and having so many threads just clutters the forum up. When she has no material then yeah sure make a thread, but not atm.

I don't think its about 'deserving' a thread. Its about needing a thread rather than having numerous others filling up the music section. Its not supposed to be a thread 'in honour' of an artist, its just to make things simpler and easier to find in one place.
