What do work camps involve?

To be honest the conservatives now have very little difference in their education policy, which I think needs changing.

They would do a better job the the Failed New Labour mess.

Also the Next UK power could be
LibDem-Conservative
which would give even more choice.

Also I think you will always get people like that, regardless of the government in power.

A Hung Parliament
is possible in the Next Election
due to the apathy.
It can not be ruled out

And the Teacher wrote back and gave me a Link (that even Netto.... can view)

That to me says a great deal.

That would NEVER happen here, as we use a First Past The Post voting system.

arista

No it can happen
and many have not Ruled it out.

Much speculation has gone into whether the Liberal Democrats in the UK would support a Labour government if no party won a majority in the General Election. In such a situation, they could hold the balance of power in that, as the centre party, they could choose to ally with either Labour "or the Conservatives" to form the next government, or decide to support specific measures of a minority government without entering a formal coalition.

You do not need to be elected to go around
and see the Mess New Labour have made
in UK Education.

All these reports are dead serious.

The independent report by the Cambridge Primary Review – one of the biggest investigations of its kind in a generation – will fuel debate over whether the focus of children’s education has become too constrained because of ministers’ determination to boost national scores in “Key Stage” tests.

Unfortuantely, the UK is doomed.

When the conservatives come in, the majority of Britons will be out on the street. With Labor in, the country will continue to go down the sewer. Could the Lib-Dems win? Not likely. The country is heading more and more towards the racists/Nazi BNP with each passing day.

Britain's good years are behind it. It will only get worse.

A Change is for the better. Yes, and the other side wants everything slashed, and won't get involved in any societal issues, including education. They are not going to spend the money, and all the programs for citizens will be abandoned. It's an entirely different philosophy. It's "every man for themselves," which was coined so graciously by Thatcher.

No. That's the entire platform of the party. Do you not understand each party's philosophy? The entire point of the Tories is the "hands off", "government-is-the-problem," approach.

I think you need to do your homework. You obviously know nothing about the Parties, just the one you don't like, which is fine. But you need to go and understand the very foundation of the others. That foundation does not change. Conservatism isn't something malleable.

"...Yet, for reasons I find increasingly hard to understand, the Labour Party has been hesitant about defending its own policy record. This is surprising because Labour’s decade-long policy output is so superior to the Conservatives’ platform for the future that the latter does not stand up to serious analysis. On education, for instance, the Conservative vision is to divert funding to building new independent schools. This will incur unnecessary costs for taxpayers. Additionally, some of their proposed schools are to be funded based on the number of children they attract. The Tories are ignorant of, or unconcerned by, the severe distributional implications of this competitive system.

Wealthier parents will have an incentive to invest more in their children’s education in the same way they invest in luxury cars. Inevitably, schools in poorer areas will fall behind. The imperative for education should transcend the obsession with individual success conditioned by market competition and the profit motive.

Equally questionable is the Conservatives’ evaluation of education, which resembles

an engineer’s assessment of road construction. Using percentages of “poor discipline” and “truancy” to punish teachers and state schools is nonsense. It conjures up America’s No Child Left Behind programme, whose assembly-line approach consigned students to a vicious cycle of inequality. Education is a complex co-productive process, in which students, parents and teachers are all responsible for the outcome."
