From todays People, no link as it only appears in the paper...

Big Brother is likely to last an incredible FOUR MONTHS this year, The People can reveal.
Channel 4 cheifs want the sixth series of their most successful show to run from May to August to boost profits.
They reckon if it lasted 15 weeks it would bank them more than £150 million.
Viewers would be treated for up to 12 hours a week with evictions, nigtly highlights, Little Brother series and live task programmes.
A source at show makers Endemol said "we are talking about running Big Brother all Summer. And the idea is to open up the series, giving fans more of a say in what happens. The show is a massive cashcow and a longer run guarantees bigger revenues for the station."
Channel 4 made record profits of £70 million in 2004 thanks to BB V, won by portugese transsexual Nadia Almada.
Our Source added: "Many here think the nation could cope with a long run, so we're hoping to give it a go" Bosses plan to choose 20 "possible" contestants but let viewers whittle them down.

As much as i love bb I think 15 weeks may be a little too long. You can get too much of a good thing you know.

I hope if this is true then I hope they don't have all 20 contestants in together.I always enjoy it more when there are fewer housemates in the last few weeks:rolleyes:

Four months of contestants like last year :nono::nono: I think BB could ruin its chance of survival if they get too greedy. It is also an awful long time to expect people to be away from their loved ones. They would also have to make the house a lot larger, there is no way 20 people could live in a house the size of the present one. Perhaps they are hoping to provoke more arguments which would be likely with this number.

I too much prefer it when you get to a lower number of people; you get to know them much better and most of the falseness put on at the beginning has gone and they are more or less being themselves.

So a 4 month BB has thumbs down from me.

I'll keep an open mind about the duration. There could actually be a viewer loss of concentrtion and boredom for a series that long. Then there is the cost of all that recording to do..

I think I would prefer two series a year each running for 10 weeks rather than a one off 15 week stint. We shall see if the report is true that is......

I would rather they shelve the whole idea

Big Brother has run its course

Time to move on - Like they said they would do before BB2 :nono:

i dont tink they should put in 20!! i tink just twelve and mybe just not have an evictin evry week so the viewers have longer to vote for who they want to evict
