msn smilies not working

the other day i did something i dont know what while chatting and all of a sudden my smilies stopped working if i type my shortcode for them i just have the words on my window i also cant see smilies that friends are using just the shortcodes/words in the convo friends have said they can see some of mine as pics but ther they get come up as the words
anyone done this before can help me get them back i even deleted msn and reloaded it onto comp but still not working :sad:

This happened to mine before but it just started working again.
Maybe you unchecked the 'Show Emoticons' by accident?

Maximise the window or make it so that you can see file etc

Tools > Options

Then click on the 'Messages' tab at the side

'Show Emoticons' is the first box on the top and on the left. Make sure its ticked. If not, tick it, click apply then click OK.

Sometimes it unticks itself
