Well, series 3 of skins could be called anything really.. it's nothing like the old skins in that like. it's less "hardcore". because they used to be ALL drink and drugs, but now they're trying too hard.

[refering to series 1 not 2]

and they ruined the only original character with a rubbish love triangle :S. The old effie wouldn't have cared about college boys and just done anything... and said nothing!

if it was called "Bones" i really wouldn't notice

Trying too hard how? I don't really follow...

I don't think they've really ruined Effy at all, if anything, the characters of Effy and Cook are using each other and quite enjoy tormenting Freddie too, apparently Effy has more of a conscience than Cook though.

Personally I prefer this cast to the original cast (when we were in series 2) - the first series was amazing because it was totally new, but the second series was kind of scraping the barrel for ideas; yet they barely attempted to develop any of the characters beyond Tony, Michelle and Sid. This season I think they've done a far better job of that, but I'm still waiting for Katie to actually have something to do other than appear once every other episode and say "boys" and then shadily morph into Emily, who hogs screen time.

I personnaly dont like season two, it was to OTT and not as good as series one.

Yep, went completely downhill in series 2.
Most of the actors were trying too hard and the writing was trying too hard to say 'Aren't we cool?'

I think it's so much better than series 1 & 2. The characters are so much more likeable and fresh, the old lot I found were irritating.

I can't stand Skins to be honest. And this series is a first class failure. It'll be axed after this series

this season had been good but i dont think 10 episodes is enough we barely get to know the characters

This series is more dramatic and more into teens issues than the first two series which had more parties, more fun and more craziness.
But the 3rd series is very good, the actors have talent and play interesting and deep characters. I hope the 4th series will get better and better.

I've not even bothered with this series, I can't watch it without the old cast :\

What was so special about the 1st class to make them better than this cast? Not much, if anything.

i love this series.. but its nothing compared to the others..
i just want effy to be like she used to be.. more mysterious ..
shes changed .. still like her though
and it used to be more about partys and stuff and a lot of this is like daytime and school..
i think its still amazing though

I think the last series lacked that though - they could have easily been unemployed, you barely saw them in school, I think the reason they've focused on that more is to make the characters easier to relate to, which I think they've done successfully. Sure Effy is not mysterious anymore - but we'd hate it if she was, she'd be an enigma and would eventually have to stop being "mysterious" otherwise there would be no point in her character. I think to an extent she's still quite mysterious in that she doesn't seem to have any motives to her actions; sleeping with Cook after Freddie tells her how he feels, for example, even after her rant at him in the shed.

Skins is no longer what it used to be.

There is no real depth to any of this years characters, with the exception of maybe JayJ. Alos the story lines have been so predictable.

I think they've dumbed the series down quite a bit.

I think this series is a different beast to the first two seasons, I'm enjoying this series a lot and I do think the characters in most respects are better then the old cast as the old cast rellied on stereotypes at times. The new cast are more individual. I think this series has been great and has become amazing as it's went on (As is the case with all Skins series)

Yes, because what you think is the real factor in it being axed, not the huge amounts of people that watch it.

The first cast will always be my favorite.

This year's cast doesn't have any depth, and even the most hatable character in the first 2 series (Tony) was likable in some way. I honestly can't see how anyone likes Cook this year.

The 1st series was my favorite, followed by the 3rd, but closely by the 2nd.

The third series is amazing and greatly puts the first two series to shame, imo. I don't think I'll ever be able to watch any of the first two seasons again because this cast is just so much better.

Because he is quiet clearly a manic depressive, attention seeking nutter of some sort, and probably ended up that way for a good reason.
