Jade Goody has been confronted in her hospital bed by a woman armed with a hammer.
The intruder walked into the terminally ill reality TV star's room at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, her spokesman Max Clifford said.
Her husband Jack Tweed had been visiting but had left her side for a few moments.
Clifford said: "Jack had been with her for a few hours and had gone to get a cup of tea in the canteen when this happened.
"She woke up to find this woman leaning over her.
"She was not hurt but was very shaken up as you can imagine."
Police confirmed the woman has been arrested over the incident.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "We can confirm that police were called to the Royal Marsden Hospital Sunday afternoon by security to reports of an unknown woman being in a patient's room.
"Officers attended and a 41-year-old woman was searched and found in possession of a hammer and was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and taken into custody at a west London police station where she remains in custody."
Security has been tightened around Jade's room as a result, Mr Clifford said.
The 27-year-old, who is dying from cancer, spent the day resting after a christeneing ceremony at the hospital on Saturday.
Her two sons Bobby, five, and Freddy, four, were christened alongside their mother in what Mr Clifford described as "a very short and emotional service".
He said completing the ceremony and getting married to Tweed meant the former Big Brother housemate done all she wanted to before she dies.
He said: "What she said to me was 'everything is in place now'."
Jade, who has been told she has only weeks to live, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August last year.

Just another quote from Max "This woman was inside her room, and Jade told me she was chanting and praying."
Eh nutball is all i can think of saying.
fair enough she has a history, she isn't the most popular person in the UK but she is going through something i wouldnt wish on my worst enemy, she needs to be left alone as she is in alot of pain and not got long left now.
Poor Jade

She's probably one of these people that wanted to put Jade "out of her misery" or something.
Christ, that's so crazy.

That woman sounds like she has completly lost every one of her marbles. S***. I feel so bad for jade.
OK now I read the article and seen the bit on the news its nowhere near as bad as they are trying to make out
Just some random psycho in the room with Jade chanting or whatever, doesn't mean she was going to harm her. The hammer was found by the police later ... Jade never said she seen the hammer in the room. Maybe the random psycho thought she could help?

I don't care. If I woke up on all sort of meds and bed-ridden to find a woman chanting I'd literally have a heart attack!!
Glad the hammer wasn't on show, though, but this woman was acting irrationally anyway so we don't know what would've happened.
Btw; don't wanna go all forensic psychology on y'all but the fact she had a hammer shows intent and pre-thinking which is more worrying than some sporadic nutcase.

She did, as far as we know. It was found on her person by the police, but may not have been visible.

"on her person".... are you from "the bill"?
anyway sounds like this women was a just hammer salesperson and walked into a dimly lit room which she thought it was the hospital chapel. Then she decided to have a quick prayer for Jade....which she muttered like a nutjob to her hammers.
Wildcat!

I heard about this today.
Poor Jade
They are getting sick of the headlines... Jade has actually not done anything to get headlines for a while now, yet people are still going on. She has been too busy in hospital, to be fair I haven't heard much about Jade for a week, except for the christening which to be fair wasn't a stunt to get press as it was held in hospital.
